00:00The Commission on Elections has sent three automated counting machines to Myanmar
00:05This is so that our countrymen can still vote
00:10despite the strong curfew there.
00:13Luisa Erizquez is in the center of the news.
00:18After the severe curfew in Myanmar,
00:21the Commission on Elections is now working on a way
00:24to ensure that Filipinos can vote in their respective countries.
00:29It is proven that instead of internet voting,
00:32postal voting or voting using balota
00:35and automated counting machines will be the voting there.
00:38In Myanmar, it is already clear that we will still send balota to our countrymen.
00:46There are more than 300 of them, 320 if I'm not mistaken.
00:50And therefore, we will not implement internet voting but postal voting.
00:55In total, there are 370 Filipinos in Myanmar.
00:59The printing of balota by the Commission on Elections is fast for them.
01:04That's why they will be able to give balota right away.
01:06And on Friday, they are expected to be online
01:09to be able to send automated counting machines.
01:13It is in a diplomatic pouch to ensure, protect and secure our balota.
01:19The machines will start deployment this April 4.
01:23In Thailand, where there are 8,203 Filipino voters,
01:28internet voting will still be held
01:30because the situation of the Filipinos there and the communication line is good.
01:35We will still have internet voting.
01:38Although sometimes they say that they still feel aftershocks in that place,
01:44but at the same time, we will still stick to the proper way of voting for our countrymen.
01:51Comelec continues to urge Filipinos abroad to enroll for internet voting.
01:57According to Comelec's latest data,
01:59only 17,323 Filipinos are enrolled abroad.
02:04Let's enroll. All the links are there where you can enroll.
02:08On April 13, the voting of Filipinos abroad is expected to start.
02:12It will end until May 12.
02:15Even though the voting is already underway,
02:16the enrollment of internet voting is still open until May 7.
02:21Luisa Erispe for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
