00:00What is the reaction of the farmers in lowering the price of rice?
00:04Let's find out in the news of PTV Live's Vell Custodio.
00:13Now, the Department of Agriculture plans to lower the maximum suggested retail price of 5% broken imported rice
00:20from the current 49 pesos per kilo to 45 pesos per kilo of rice.
00:31If the price of rice continues to go down in the world market,
00:38it can be lowered to 45 pesos per kilo of the most important rice.
00:42According to the DA, the price of rice in the world market has already gone down
00:47to the lowest price in more than two years.
00:50The price of rice has gone down to 400 dollars per ton
00:56and 490 dollars per ton is the landed cost of 5% broken imported rice.
01:02It is now cheaper by 200 dollars or almost 11,500 pesos per ton
01:08compared to its price in November 2024.
01:11Aside from this, another option for cheap rice is Kadiwa ng Pangulo
01:15that can be bought in the markets like here in Camonim Market.
01:19If the price of rice continues to go down,
01:22it can be lowered to 45 pesos per kilo of the most important rice.
