00:00Happy Wednesday to all of us. I'm Benny Son, Estareja.
00:05We have three different weather systems in our country.
00:09The first one is the Northeasterly Wind Flow.
00:11The wind comes from the northeastern part of the Philippines.
00:14It brings light rain until it stops.
00:17It also brings dark weather to the northern part of the Philippines.
00:21Here in the southern portion of Mindanao,
00:23we have the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:27This is the line where the wind comes from the northern and southern hemispheres.
00:32That's why sometimes it rains heavily.
00:34For the rest of the country, there's still the effect of Easter Leaves
00:37or the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean.
00:40It only brings light rain or thunderstorms.
00:44Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:47we don't have any visible storm or low-pressure area
00:50that can affect our country until the weekend ends.
00:55Today, Wednesday, we still have dark weather
00:58here in the northern part of the northern zone.
01:01It's the effect of the Northeasterly Wind Flow.
01:04It includes Batanes, Cagayan, Apayau, Isabela, and Aurora.
01:09We expect light to moderate with at times heavy rains
01:12especially in the mountains of Isabela and Northern Aurora.
01:16Be careful of landslides.
01:18The rest of Cagayan Valley plus the rest of Cordillera Region
01:21will also have dark weather for today.
01:23We expect light to moderate with at times heavy rains
01:27while the rest of the zone includes Metro Manila,
01:31partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:33and there's a chance of heavy rains or thunderstorms,
01:37especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:40Our air temperature in Metro Manila
01:43is possible to rise to 32 degrees Celsius
01:45in some parts of the northern and central zone.
01:48While in Baguio City,
01:50the air temperature is possible to rise to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:54For our countrymen here in Palawan,
01:56we expect fair weather conditions.
01:58Most of the time, it will be sunny,
01:59but sometimes, it will be hot,
02:01especially in the areas of the central portion of Palawan.
02:03While in Visayas,
02:05there are areas where there will be light rains
02:09in the eastern and central portion of Visayas.
02:13In the afternoon and evening,
02:15the clouds will move towards Western Visayas
02:18and Negros Occidental,
02:20but we also expect dry weather.
02:24Our air temperature in Puerto Princesa
02:26is possible to rise to 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon,
02:28while in Metro Cebu,
02:30it will rise to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:33For our countrymen in Mindanao,
02:35the southern portion of Mindanao,
02:37it will be affected by the ITCZ.
02:39There's a high chance of rain in the morning
02:41in Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi,
02:43up to the areas of South Cotabato, Sarangani,
02:46Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
02:49Sometimes, the rain will be heavy.
02:51Be careful of flooding and landslides,
02:54even if the rain won't be continuous.
02:57For the rest of Mindanao,
02:58it will be partly cloudy,
02:59and most of the time, it will be sunny in the morning
03:00until noon,
03:01and then, it will be hot in many areas
03:04until noon.
03:05In the afternoon and evening,
03:07it will be partly cloudy to cloudy,
03:08and there's a high chance of rain
03:10that will last for 1 to 2 hours.
03:14Our temperature in Zamboanga City and Davao City
03:17is possible to rise in the afternoon
03:18up to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:21When it comes to our heat index yesterday,
03:24the highest heat index we felt here in Veracatanduanes
03:27was up to 45 degrees Celsius,
03:29followed by Pili, Camarines Sur,
03:31with up to 43 degrees,
03:33and in Ibasambales,
03:3442 degrees Celsius.
03:36The areas we mentioned
03:37had dangerous levels of heat index.
03:40While in Metro Manila yesterday,
03:42it reached 40 degrees Celsius
03:43in Iapasay City,
03:45and 37 degrees Celsius in Quezon City.
03:48And for our forecast heat index for today,
03:51April 2,
03:52the hottest areas in Luzon
03:54are Dagupan City,
03:56up to 43 degrees Celsius,
03:57followed by dangerous levels of heat index
04:00of 42 degrees Celsius
04:01in Ibasambales and Veracatanduanes.
04:04While for Metro Manila,
04:05the heat index we felt yesterday
04:08for today,
04:09that's around 10 a.m.
04:11until 3 p.m. for today.
04:12Keep in mind,
04:14if you're going out,
04:17make sure to wear a heat shield
04:19like a raincoat and an umbrella,
04:20and make sure to drink plenty of water,
04:23especially in the afternoon.
04:26And for the location of our ocean,
04:29we don't have any gale warnings for now,
04:31and we don't expect any gale warnings
04:32for the next few days
04:34because we don't have a Northeast Monsoon.
04:37It's expected to be 2 to 3 meters high
04:40in the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon.
04:43While here in the country,
04:45it's 1 to 2 meters high.
04:47If there's a thunderstorm,
04:48it's only 2.5 meters high.
04:52And for our four-day weather forecast,
04:54from Thursday to Sunday,
04:56that's April 3 to 6,
04:58there are areas on the eastern side
05:00of Luzon and Visayas
05:01that will have a high chance of rain.
05:03The high pressure here in Taiwan and China
05:07will move to Japan.
05:10So that means the wind that comes from the north
05:13will eventually move to the left or right,
05:17and then eventually,
05:18the wind will come from the east.
05:20So there are areas here in Quezon,
05:23Bicol Region,
05:24in the eastern Visayas,
05:25apart from Cagayan Valley and Aurora
05:27that will also have rain
05:29and will be cloudy for most of the day,
05:31especially in the mountains there.
05:33That's the effect of the northeast wind flow
05:35plus the easterly,
05:37even if the rain won't continue
05:39for the next four days.
05:41Meanwhile,
05:42we still have expectations of rain
05:44in portions of Davao Region and Socsat Gen.
05:46By Thursday and Friday,
05:48that will still be affected by the ITCZ
05:50or the wind waves from the northern
05:52and southern hemispheres.
05:53If our ITCZ rises by the weekend,
05:56there will still be a high chance of rain.
05:59Not only those in southern Mindanao,
06:01a large portion of Mindanao
06:03will have more rain
06:05and sometimes it will be heavy,
06:07so be careful of flooding and landslides.
06:09The rest of the country is still affected
06:12by the easterly,
06:13Central, Southern Luzon,
06:14and a large portion of Visayas
06:16will still be hot
06:17and the small chance of rain will only increase.
06:20If there is,
06:21it will only last for one to two hours.
06:24Our sunrise is 5.51 a.m.
06:27and our sunset is 6.08 p.m.
06:30That's all the latest
06:31from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
