Juvenile criminals who ram police cars will soon face the same penalties as adults under laws to be introduced to state parliament this week. The ABC can also reveal the government will make trafficking in dangerous drugs a part of its adult crime, adult time laws.

00:29arson and torture, as well as trafficking dangerous drugs, endangering a police officer
00:35when driving a motor vehicle, attempt to commit rape and assault with intent to commit rape.
00:41David Christopher Lee's next trench of proposed laws are an admission that the LNP bungled
00:48their signature laws.
00:50The government believes the reforms are delivering results.
00:53What we've seen over summer, and it is only early days, is a decrease in those crimes
00:57often committed by juveniles and those crimes that people are most concerned about.
01:01The LNP rushed through these laws that clearly are not working.
01:06As the government and opposition spar over crime policy, new polling shows the LNP with
01:12a sizeable lead over Labor.
01:14The poll of 1,500 Queenslanders was conducted by Redbridge Group in the week before the
01:20government announced its final Olympics plan and has the LNP leading Labor 56.5% to 43.5%
01:29on a two-party preferred basis.
01:31I think Miles is now discovering what it is to be an opposition leader and an opposition
01:35leader where there's a government that is relatively popular.
01:39Well it's not too far from what the election said was the view of Queenslanders not that
01:43long ago.
01:44We've got a big job to win back their support but we're focused on doing that.
01:47It's a long road to the 2028 election.
