00:00Today we inaugurate in Brugirio the second Biodiversity Lab made in collaboration with E.ON.
00:13It is in fact an intervention that brings together a series of small biodiversity-oriented projects
00:20that, put together, create a system that can generate really positive effects
00:26on both terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity.
00:29Because, in fact, here we are faced with a mixed ecosystem,
00:33with the presence of a lake that is the recovery of an old cave of inert materials.
00:38Here we have therefore carried out a series of interventions related to the creation of bioforests,
00:44therefore very dense forests oriented precisely to the promotion of biodiversity.
00:49With their transformation into real habitats, as they grow,
00:56habitats for insects, avifauna, birds, mammals, etc.
01:02Then we created a series of other interventions on the shore of the lake,
01:06which are therefore linked to a cariceto,
01:08the planting of hydrophilic herbs that love water and are well positioned near the lake.
01:18Then we have a repair forest, which is still a forest with salices and other similar species,
01:23which enjoys the presence of water and therefore can constitute a protection area for the fauna,
01:29which also emerges from the lake and can therefore find a habitat of protection.
01:34We have installed floating biostuoi, which also become a place of protection
01:39for a series of birds and aquatic species.
01:44Then we have also created, returning to the mainland, flower strips,
01:50which are therefore specially suitable for pollinating insects, as a source of nutrition.
01:57Then we have a collection of bagotels,
01:59therefore structures that host insects and therefore become the home of insects
02:04to promote the spread and colonization of these environments.
02:09So in summary, a series of actions that are born from a clear intentionality,
02:13which are suitable for what is called the biological vocationality of this area,
02:19so they are useful in this environmental context
02:23and which are carried out in the form of collaboration with the public and private sector.
02:29So a company that finances these activities, E.ON,
02:32a technical subject such as ReteClima, which carries out these same activities,
02:35and then the municipality, therefore, which hosts these projects,
02:39which are for the municipality at zero cost.
02:41So here we actually manage to keep many utilities together,
02:46therefore linked to an improvement of the local territory.
