The rain shield (an improvised pop bottle) was used to keep the equipment dry, however it meant the rain hitting it was likely going to drown out some of it.

A high-pass filter was required for most of the speeches until it stopped just north of the US consulate where the EQ (and volume) were finally corrected (I heard somebody shouting to "fix the audio"). I should also point out people were chanting while the speeches were happening, quite rude if you ask me. They were told to stop multiple times.
