Tonga Island | Tsunami warning issued after 7.1 earthquake hits near Tonga | oneindia Telugu

పసిఫిక్ మహాసముద్రంలోని టోంగా దీవుల్లో భారీ భూకంపం సంభవించింది. రిక్టార్ స్కేలుపై 7.1 గా తీవ్రత నమోదైంది. పంగైకి ఆగ్నేయంగా 90 కి.మీ దూరంలో.. 10 కి.మీ లోతులో భూకంప కేంద్రం ఉన్నట్టు యునైటెడ్‌ స్టేట్స్‌ జియోలాజికల్‌ సర్వే వెల్లడించింది.దీని ప్రభావం నియు ద్వీపం వరకు విస్తరించిందని.. దాంతో దీవుల్లో సునామీ హెచ్చరికలు జారీ చేసినట్టు ప్రకటించారుభూకంప కేంద్రం నుంచి 300 కి.మీ దూరంలో ప్రమాదకరమైన అలలు ఎగిసి పడే అవకాశం ఉందని హెచ్చరిస్తున్నారు. దీంతో అప్రమత్తమైన అధికారులు ప్రజలను సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలిస్తున్నారు.

A massive earthquake has struck the Tonga islands in the Pacific Ocean. The magnitude was recorded as 7.1 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 90 km southeast of Pangai at a depth of 10 km, the United States Geological Survey said.It was announced that the impact of Niu extended to the island of Niue, and tsunami warnings were issued for the islands.There is a warning that dangerous waves may occur within 300 km of the epicenter. Alert authorities are evacuating people to safer areas.
