Three Kuala Lumpur City Hall enforcement officers involved in an altercation with a balloon vendor on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman on Friday (March 28) have been temporarily relieved of their duties.

In a statement on Sunday, (March 30), Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif said the decision was to enable DBKL and the Royal Malaysia Police to conduct an independent, transparent and thorough investigation.

00:34Federal Territories, Datuk Sri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
00:39She also said Kuala Lumpur City Hall views this incident seriously and will not compromise
00:45on any misconduct by its personnel if proven guilty.
00:49A video of the altercation recently went viral on social media, drawing widespread public
00:54reaction.
00:56It is said the 28-year-old balloon vendor, Mohamad Zaimuddin Azlan, is receiving treatment
01:01at a public hospital.
01:03Initially, it was said that the incident occurred after the vendor refused to cooperate and
01:08comply with enforcement directives, in addition to allegedly acting aggressively toward the
01:14officers on duty.
