00:29the center of the country on Friday.
00:35And the Palestinian Resistance Commission warns that Israel has confiscated more than
00:3952,000 hectares in the occupied West Bank.
00:47Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur cities in Havana, Cuba.
00:52We begin with the news.
01:06In Venezuela, during the 25th ALBA-TCB political council, participants rejected the constant
01:12aggressions of the United States government against the missions of Cuban doctors and
01:16Pedro Caribe.
01:17During the event, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil rejected the aggressions promoted
01:22by the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, against the cooperation of Cuban
01:27doctors and the Pedro Caribe initiative, both of which have been beneficial for the development
01:33of the region.
01:34Gil also urged to progress in the strategic lines identified by the leaders who participated
01:41in the last presidential summit, held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding
01:46of the organization.
01:47For his part, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno RodrĂguez, rejected the increasing
01:52unilateral coercive measures of Washington against the Caribbean island and several countries
01:58of the region.
02:05President Nicolás Maduro rejected the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Trump administration
02:11against the Venezuelan productive system, condemning that these actions were requested
02:16by the Venezuelan extreme right wing.
02:18During the installation of the National Economic Council, President Maduro made a call to confront
02:23the economic war announcement promoted by the government of the United States and the
02:28Venezuelan extreme right wing.
02:30He also stated that Venezuelan migrants are victims of the sanctions and the economic
02:35war that forced them to emigrate.
02:38In this context, the Venezuelan head of state reiterated that in spite of the sanctions
02:42and the economic blockade, the Venezuelan people have achieved in the first quarter
02:47of the year an economic growth of 4.5% in the gross domestic product.
03:00In its opportunity, the criminal economic sanctions condemned by the entire Venezuelan
03:06public opinion were carefully requested by a few unspeakable individuals who have pretended
03:12and believed that by causing economic harm, and consequently causing social harm to their
03:17country, our country which belongs to all Venezuelans, they are going to have a bed
03:40of roses to reach political power in Venezuela and become the saviors in some cases of national
03:51history.
03:57Since the history we have lived through has shown that it is a crime against an entire
04:01country, against an entire society to have requested or supported sanctions against the
04:10economy and the healthy functioning of the national productive mechanism.
04:21Also the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, condemned the violation of human rights
04:25suffered by the Venezuelan migrants in El Salvador.
04:33Venezuelan migrants are doubly victims.
04:36In Venezuela, we're victims of the sanctions and the economic war that forced them to migrate
04:41as economic migrants, and now they're victims of an embarrassment by pretending to qualify
04:47them as members of a gang of murderers, the Trinidad-Aragua criminal group that was defeated
04:53in our country, and pretending to qualify, as the Nazis did with the Jews, all Venezuelan
04:59migration as a migration of criminals.
05:02This is not a migration of criminals.
05:05I come out in defense of Venezuelan migrants.
05:07It is an economic migration of decent, productive, working people.
05:18In El Salvador, Cristo Sal, a 25-year-old human rights organization, has issued a report
05:24deeming the deportation of Venezuelans from the United States to prisons in El Salvador
05:29as illegal.
05:30Moreover, they say the refusal by the administration of President Nayib Bukele to disclose the
05:35identity of the said prisoners is a violation of human rights, according to international
05:41law which tantamounts to a forced disappearance or kidnap.
05:45They argue that no person can be arrested in anonymity for it is a violation of basic
05:50rights like communicating with relatives and lawyers or receiving visitors while in prison.
06:00And now we have a short break coming up, but first remember you can join us on TikTok at

06:08We'll be right back, stay with us.
06:15Welcome back.
06:29Myanmar authorities reported that the death toll after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake exceeded
06:341,000 people.
06:35Authorities confirmed that the number of people injured is estimated to be over 3,000 in the
06:41Mandalay region, while in the towns of Sagaing and Kyakuse, at least 300 people have been
06:48reported missing under the rubble.
06:50The authorities also declared a state of emergency in the regions of Sagaing, Magwe, Shang, among
06:56others, for being the most affected by the disaster.
06:59Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts continue for those missing due to the collapse of buildings
07:05and cracks in the ground.
07:14The death toll will increase.
07:16In some places, buildings collapsed and rescue operations continue.
07:24I also went and checked.
07:26I would like to request our people to support and help us, as we need to provide rescue
07:31operations widely.
07:39I have declared a state of emergency in all affected regions and opened all assistance
07:44from other countries.
07:48Recently, there have been emergency aid from the AHA Centre, ASEAN Coordination Centre
07:56for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management, and I allowed India to send aid to us.
08:08I would like to invite every organization, every people to provide aid.
08:17The governments of China and India sent emergency humanitarian aid to Myanmar after the earthquake
08:22that shook the country on Friday.
08:25The government of China allocated at least $14 million in aid, rescue equipment, emergency
08:30supplies, food and drinking water.
08:33Likewise, the Chinese Red Cross sent an initial batch of aid, including tents, sleeping blankets,
08:39folding beds and assistance packages for at least 2,000 affected families.
08:44For its part, the government of India sent its first batch of 15 tonnes of aid, which
08:49included rescue materials, tents, food, hygiene kits and essential medicines, as well as medical
08:55equipment.
08:56The authorities of these countries indicated that they will continue to send additional
09:01supplies to attend to the damage caused by the catastrophe.
09:07Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent his condolences to the families and
09:15people of Myanmar for the earthquake that hit the nation on Friday, March 28.
09:20The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that about 120 rescue workers have
09:26been sent to the Southeast Asian.
09:29According to an official report, the Russian team includes personnel from the Airborne
09:34Unit, medical staff and canine teams who are collaborating with Myanmar authorities on
09:39rescue operations in their country.
09:53In other news, in Bolivia, the Ministry of Health launched a campaign aimed at facilitating
09:58the diagnosis of cervical cancer, the most common type of cancer in the country, using
10:02molecular technology.
10:04The aim is to detect the curable disease in time.
10:07Correspondent Fede Morales tells us the details.
10:13To the permanent campaign aimed at early detection of cervical cancer, the Bolivian government
10:19has added molecular technology that allows two diagnoses, called co-testing, to be performed
10:25in a single session.
10:26The sample collection is unique and allows us to perform the diagnosis with both tests
10:33in order not to inconvenience our patients and, especially, to give them the security
10:37of only taking the sample on a single occasion.
10:40With this reality, co-testing is practically accessible to all women.
10:50With the incorporation of new technology, it is hoped that women will be more confident
10:54in coming forward for the tests, which are recommended to be performed once a year.
11:03We only took the sample for the pap smear by looking at the cytology, the cellular characteristics
11:07that we could see in the tissue that we could see in the uterine cervix, and, in this case,
11:11what we do is to complement it with a molecular biology test.
11:14If we find the papillomavirus, we have the possibility of identifying the genotype, which
11:18is the main cause of cancer.
11:22For the time being, the new technology is applied at the Inlesa Institute, where samples
11:29are also received from all over the country, which are also taken and process-free of charge.
11:37The health personnel are trained so that they can make a correct sampling to make the molecular
11:41diagnosis because, nowadays, we are talking about molecular biology for the diagnosis
11:46of the human papillomavirus.
11:48And how do we combine this information with the pap smear?
11:57The state campaign against cervical cancer, in addition to free diagnosis, includes the
12:02vaccination of girls and boys from 12 to 15 years of age for prevention purposes and in
12:07the perspective of controlling the papillomavirus.
12:14This campaign is called 90-70-90.
12:17It is related to what really matters to us women.
12:20The measures for us are that 90-70-90.
12:26It's as simple as that.
12:27Those are our measures.
12:28It's 90% of girls vaccinated against human papillomavirus between the ages of 10 and
12:3315, 70% of women having a high-yield test at age 35 and again at age 45, and 90% of
12:41women with cervical disease receiving treatment.
12:50Cervical cancer affects more than 13,000 women each year.
12:54The male is the transmitting agent of the disease, which is why they are included in
12:58the vaccination program.
13:00To facilitate the fight against this disease, the government authorized, several years ago,
13:05that women should have a working day for the sole purpose of going for the test to detect
13:09the disease.

14:01The Palestinian Resistance Commission warns that Israel has confiscated more than 52,000
14:07hectares in the occupied West Bank in the midst of the commemoration of the 49th anniversary
14:11of the Land Day in Palestine.
14:14The organization denounced the illegal seizure of properties by Israel, in addition to the
14:18issuance of military orders for buffer zones around the settlements, while establishing
14:2416 new security checkpoints.
14:26The agency detailed that through these buffer zones, the Tel Aviv regime is attempting to
14:32prevent residents from accessing their homes.
14:36In an attempt to evict them from their land, dozens of Palestinians are forced to evacuate
14:41the area to protect their lives.
14:49In Palestine, Israeli forces killed six people during an airstrike on the Abbasan Al-Kabira
14:54area east of Kanjenis.
14:57Rescue teams worked to recover the victims trapped under the rubble, while the wounded
15:01were transferred to the emergency services.
15:04Since the resumption of the Israeli aggressions against the Gaza Strip on March 18th, more
15:09than 830 Palestinians have been reported dead and another 1,787 wounded.
15:16The resumption of hostilities aggravates the humanitarian crisis, which occurred after
15:20the prohibition of the entry of medical aid and supplies to the territory.
15:30The Israeli army attacked suburbs south of Beirut in a raid against a drone warehouse
15:35belonging to Hezbollah.
15:37The Israeli occupation issued an evacuation alert minutes before the attack, in an area
15:42of 300 meters around the intended target.
15:46Following the attack, Lebanese authorities warned that Israel is carrying out a dangerous
15:51escalation in southern Lebanon, while announcing the closure of schools in the targeted area.
15:56Tel Aviv justified its attacks as a response to alleged attacks carried out by the Lebanese
16:03resistance.
16:04However, senior Hezbollah commanders denied having participated in the alleged attacks
16:08against Israel.
16:16We were working in the factory and they sent a warning saying they would bomb there first.
16:22We were next to a school and the children started coming out.
16:26They were terrified, they bombed the area three times.
16:34People panicked, especially because there are two schools next to each other and the
16:38area is always crowded at that time, so people ran to get their children.
16:45In Italy, organizations warned that agriculture and livestock farming are at a critical stage
16:50due to the drought affecting south of the country.
16:53Through a press release, the Italian Confederation of Direct Farmers said the damages due to
16:59the current water crisis in four regions south of the country amount to 9 million euros.
17:05They also warned that the situation could worsen and spread to other areas of the country,
17:10so they have urged for an increase in rainwater harvesting capacity to warranty a supply for
17:17irrigation, livestock and hydroelectric power generation.
17:24In China, a fashion show focused on the traditional style of Guizhou province took place as part
17:42of the International Fashion Week in Beijing.
17:45On Friday, Miao and Dong youth from Qiandongnan paraded ethnic style jewelry and embroidered
17:52costumes, capturing the attention of the public.
17:55At least 12 brands contributed to the cultural event, where local designers had the opportunity
18:01to connect with the ancient traditions of their ancestors while showcasing oriental
18:06fashion and beauty through modern avant-garde designs.
