00:00The United States reassured its support to the Philippines in the midst of the challenges facing the Philippines because of China.

00:07The United States will also send additional equipment that has advanced capabilities for the training of Filipino and American soldiers in Abril.

00:20In the face of U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to President Bongbong Marcos in Malacanang, he pointed out the situation in the West Philippine Sea.

00:32Hegseth reiterated the United States' commitment to support the Philippines in the face of the challenges facing China.

00:39Peace through strength is a very real thing.

00:41Deterrence is necessary around the world, but specifically in this region, in your country, considering the threats from the communist Chinese,

00:52and that friends need to stand shoulder to shoulder to deter conflict, to ensure that there's free navigation, whether you call it the South China Sea or the West Philippine Sea.

01:06President Marcos thanked the United States for its support.

01:10Thank you, Mr. Secretary. Well, being a friend to the United States is something that is inherent with most Filipinos,

01:17considering the relationship that we have had over 100 years in various forms.

01:25And you are our only treaty partner and continue to be the supporter for peace in this part of the world.

01:39As part of stopping the threats in the region, Hegseth said that the United States will send more advanced capabilities to the Philippines.

01:49Hegseth announced this after his arrest of Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. in Camp Aguinaldo.

01:56First, we agreed that the United States will deploy additional advanced capabilities to the Philippines.

02:05This includes using the Nemesis anti-ship missile system and highly capable unmanned surface vehicles in Exercise Balikatan this April.

02:20These systems will enable U.S. forces and the armed forces of the Philippines to train together on using advanced capabilities to defend the Philippines' sovereignty.

02:31The Nemesis or Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System is an anti-ship missile system that is used from land.

02:40The deployment of the Nemesis and other unmanned surface vehicles will hasten the introduction of these technologies into the vista of the Philippine Armed Forces

02:53and will train our troops to train for higher technological capabilities that we need for effective deterrence in the future.

03:02Hegseth's assurance is that the United States will not leave the Philippines in its battles in the West Philippine Sea against China.

03:11And this is just the beginning of the stronger alliance between the two countries.

03:16I can assure you and I can assure all those watching, this is just the beginning of what will continue to be an incredibly fruitful alliance.

03:25It reflects the strength, as I said, of our ironclad alliance, particularly in the face of communist China's aggression in the region.

03:37The U.S. and the Philippines' defense cooperation was first initiated by the Foreign Ministry of China.

03:43Its message to the Philippines was that the use of mouthpiece or foreign language, as well as the use of gimmicks for personal political agenda, should be stopped.

03:55This was answered by Netanyahu and Hegseth.

03:58We don't practice propaganda in this country. We practice free speech and democracy.

04:05So the Philippines is not a mouthpiece, unlike they themselves, who are mouthpieces of Xi Jinping thought.

04:14President Trump has made it clear we don't seek war. We don't seek to nation-build.

04:20We don't seek to use chess pieces and move them around the board.

04:24All we seek is peace. All we seek is freedom and cooperation and mutual benefit.

04:32And we find that in friends, like our friends in the Philippines.

04:35On the return of U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth to the U.S., he said he got important information from the AFP and Secretary Teodoro.
