00:00A team of doctors came over to me to tell me that you are positive.
00:16The first symptom I had was fever, 99.5.
00:21That was the only symptom I had.
00:23But it came along with body ache and just that.
00:30Just 99.5 fever with body ache.
00:33Emotionally it was really very tough.
00:37The problem which I faced was initially because I was at my home for 3-4 days
00:44where we could not identify that it was corona.
00:48When I had to go to get the check, my wife was along with me and she only took me to the doctor.
00:55Then we requested him that we want to get our corona screening done.
00:59I was a little nervous that what will happen.
01:02But anyhow, I was not scared.
01:07A little nervous for sure.
01:09A team of doctors came over to me to tell me that you are positive and Delhi's first corona positive.
01:19What was your life like before corona?
01:27Nowadays, life has been easier.
01:29You have your mobile phone in your hand and you can do whatever video calls you want to do through WhatsApp or Skype.
01:36So I did the same.
01:38But the emotional thing which I suffered was that I met around 20-30 people whose reports were not coming.
01:47So as soon as they came negative, I was a little relieved.
01:52I was not bothered about myself because doctors are like God.
01:57In the temple, you have God.
02:02But in hospital, doctors are like God.
02:04So I was trusting them fully and when they were saying that Rohit, you will recover, I had no problem.
02:11I was just thinking positive.
02:12I was not trying to speak to any people who were negative.
02:15People forget that they are talking to a patient who is recovering.
02:19And they ask silly questions.
02:21One of my friends asked me that Rohit, you are undergoing corona.
02:29I was at hospital at that time.
02:32And he called me around 10 o'clock in the night, a very dear and close friend.
02:36But he asked me that Rohit, there is going to be some problem in your body.
02:41There is going to be some effect which corona will leave in your body.
02:44So questions like these, they really disturb you.
02:49Then somebody called me and again a very dear friend.
02:53I don't know how he could but he told me that Rohit, now your lungs would be working 35% less.
02:59So people need to understand that whom they are talking to, they should know.
03:06They are talking to a patient.
03:07He needs positivity.
03:08Not all these negative things.
03:15I was doing yoga couple of times a day.
03:21I was also doing WhatsApp video calls with my family.
03:27And when I started to get better, then I was reading and praying also.
03:37I had never thought that in a hospital if you have to spend 14 days, you will enjoy washing your own clothes also.
03:45I have never washed my clothes since childhood.
03:47So actually washing clothes was also a time pass that you look forward to that you have to wash your clothes.
04:01People need to respect the privacy of the patient.
04:04My mobile number, my photographs, my family photographs were leaked by somebody.
04:10I don't understand what he gained out of that.
04:13It was just trouble for the patient and the family who were already suffering.
04:18I had not gone to Italy or to other parts of Europe to go and buy corona.
04:29Nobody gave me corona.
04:30People need to understand this.
04:32So whosoever is getting, he is not going and getting it.
04:35But he is just getting it.
04:36He is not getting it from the supermarket or somewhere.
04:40People need to respect the privacy of the patient unless he is in hospital.
04:45After that, it is his call whether he wants to come forward or not.
04:50Like I have come forward to tell people that you have to be positive.
04:54But people need to respect.
04:56There is no need for all such stuff.
05:01Like leaking the photos and phone numbers to everybody.
05:11Just when I stepped out of the hospital, it was raining in Delhi.
05:18Sorry, the rain had just got over.
05:20So I just took a very, very deep 3, 4, 5 breaths and just thank God that I am out.
05:28Just that.
05:29I wanted to hug my family but I could not because I had to maintain 2, 3 meters of distance.
05:38So the first thing which I had thought was that I would be hugging everybody which I could not.
05:43But then I went straight to my room and after that came out and again bowed my head in front of the God in the temple, small temple we have at home.
05:59The test facility, the test doctors are doing, it is a painless thing and it takes not more than 10 seconds.
06:17Number 1.
06:18Number 2.
06:19You have to do it for yourself, for your loved ones, for the humanity.
06:24You don't know whether you are positive.
06:27I will give you my example.
06:29I was doing 20-25,000 steps daily and I had never thought that I could be corona positive.
06:37Please understand.
06:38So if you have any symptoms, Government of India is fully prepared and you should just go and get yourself tested if you have any symptoms.
06:47Isolation ward is not a 2x2 prison.
06:49It is a one bedroom attached with a toilet with windows.
