Ministro de Cultura Roberto Ángel Salcedo Destaca la Alegría del Pueblo Dominicano en Acto de Reconocimiento a Zoé
Transcript
00:00As a Minister of Culture, as a Dominican, and as a former classmate of the sister of Soheb, Mariel,
00:09I come to this act full of emotion.
00:14Soheb Saldaña is the reflection of the work, of the sacrifice, of the effort.
00:19There is a very interesting book by a Canadian writer named Malcolm Gladwell
00:25that talks about the outliers.
00:30That book refers to the 10,000 hours of practice that indefinitely contribute
00:36to a person becoming a virtuoso, a specialist in anything to do with life.
00:44That would apply in sports, it would apply in business, in art,
00:49and I see Soheb Saldaña reflected in that conception.
00:54From an early age, he showed empathy for the arts,
00:58but beyond that empathy, with a talent that he had,
01:03he cultivated it through practice, through rehearsal, through sacrifice.
01:08And today, she has become a national and international reference
01:14that fills the entire Dominican Republic with pride.
01:17Soheb, welcome to your homeland.
01:23Welcome to the Dominican Republic, a land of good people, of hardworking people,
01:31of solidary people, and of generous people.
01:34I believe that these are characteristics that also adorn you,
01:38and that make every Dominican today feel more proud to have been born in this homeland,
01:43or to have had ties as close and intimate as the ones you have had.
01:48I hope that this will be the first of many meetings to continue celebrating your life,
01:53celebrating your career, and these great successes that put the Dominican flag
01:58at the firmament of the whole world.
02:01Thank you very much. May God bless you, bless your family, and bless the Dominican people.
