00:00The government has announced a two-day 50% discount on toll charges in conjunction with
00:06Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
00:08Works Minister Alexander Nantalingi said the discount will be in effect from 12.01am this
00:13Friday until 11.59pm the following day.
00:19In a statement, he said this would cost the government about 19.69 million ringgit in
00:23compensation to the toll concessionaires.
00:27It would only apply to Class 1 private vehicles and will not apply to tolls at the country's
00:32borders, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang toll plazas.
00:38Nanta said the toll discount is a continuation of toll aid given by the government for the
00:43four main festive seasons in Peninsular Malaysia.
00:46Earlier today, government spokesman Fahmi Fazil announced that all mobile users would
00:51receive at least 5GB of free data on the first day of Hari Raya.
