00:18migrants in El Salvador sent there by the US government.
00:26On Tuesday, the Chinese government accused the United States of interfering in Venezuela's
00:30internal affairs, urging it to stop abusing the imposition of illegal sanctions.
00:40And the Russian government assures that it is in favour of resuming the Black Sea initiative
00:45in a more acceptable way for all and with clear warranties.
00:54Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana,
00:59Cuba.
01:00We begin with the news.
01:13Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro has demanded the United Nations to intervene in the imprisonment
01:20of 238 Venezuelan migrants in El Salvador, who were sent there by the US government under
01:26accusations of belonging to the Tren de Agua gang.
01:29Maduro called this action a kidnapping and blamed Salvadoran president Nayib Bukele for
01:34not warranting the health and the release of the detainees.
01:39Maduro denounced that these migrants were deported without evidence or trial and affirmed
01:44that many were deceived, believing that they would be repatriated to Venezuela.
01:50In addition, the Venezuelan government announced legal efforts to ensure the safe return of
01:54the migrants and called these deportations a crime against humanity.
01:58In response, citizens and international organizations have organized simultaneous mobilizations
02:05in several countries, including Venezuela, Mexico, Honduras and Chile, demanding the
02:10immediate release of the Venezuelan detained in El Salvador.
02:20This March 25th, the Venezuelan people will mobilize in Caracas in support of Venezuelan
02:25migrants who have suffered mistreatment, especially those kidnapped in El Salvador.
02:30The march, called by the Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
02:35PSUV Diosdado Cabello, seeks to reject justifications for violent acts against Venezuelans and to
02:42express solidarity with the migrants.
02:45The mobilization also responds to the application of the Public Enemy Act by Donald Trump's
02:51administration, which has generated repudiation in Venezuela.
02:55Recently, 199 Venezuelan nationals returned to Venezuela from Honduras after being deported
03:01from the United States, which has been set as a success of the Return to the Homeland Plan.
03:14U.S. judges and journalists reject the government's decision that ended in the kidnapping of 238
03:21Venezuelans in El Salvador and claim that Nazis got a better deal with the foreign enemies law.
03:27Judge Karen Henderson, one of the three judges of the Court of Appeals that is reviewing
03:32to block the aforementioned law, upset Deputy Attorney General Drew Ensign by making an
03:39analogy with the Nazis who applied the law that today discriminates against Venezuelan
03:45migrants.
03:46In this same line, the journalist Camilo Montoya Galvez, who revealed the list of names of
03:51the Venezuelan citizens kidnapped in El Salvador, assures that the investigations of the
03:57government and the media have not obtained links with the extinct criminal gang known
04:02as the Train of Aragua.
04:09On Tuesday, the Chinese government accused the United States of interfering in Venezuelans'
04:15internal affairs, urging it to stop abusing the imposition of illegal sanctions.
04:21Precisely during the press conference of the office, the spokesman of China's Ministry
04:26of Foreign Affairs, Wu Yikun, rejected the so-called long-arm jurisdiction after Washington
04:33announced tariffs of up to 25% on imports from countries that buy oil and gas from Caracas.
04:40The diplomat added that the United States is seriously interfering in the internal affairs
04:45of other countries and assured that China is firmly opposed and reminded Washington
04:51that the imposition of tariffs will only cause greater losses for American companies
04:56and consumers.
05:05We call on the U.S. to stop interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs,
05:15abolish the illegal unilateral sanctions imposed on Venezuela
05:20and do more things that are conducive to the peace, stability and development of Venezuela
05:28and other countries.
05:34The former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Jessica D. Aber, was found dead
05:40in her Alexandria home on Saturday morning.
05:43Aber left her post in January after Donald Trump became president.
05:47The lawyer had been appointed U.S. Attorney in Virginia in 2021 by then-President Joseph Biden
05:53to handle cases involving terrorism, violent gang crime and leaks of classified documents.
06:00Authorities said the former prosecutor's death may have been caused by a long-standing medical problem.
06:06Autopsy results are still pending.
06:10The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations created a special task force to conduct an investigation
06:16into the attacks of Tesla vehicles.
06:19On Monday, the director in charge of public affairs, Ben Williamson,
06:24informed that the ATF is also involved in the investigation.
06:28Earlier, President Donald Trump called the criminal acts committed against Elon Musk's brand
06:33Earlier, President Donald Trump called the criminal acts committed against Elon Musk's brand
06:40The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, said she has filed charges against three people accused of setting fire
06:46to the brand's vehicles for whom she has requested sentences ranging from five to 20 years in prison.

07:07Welcome back to From the South.
07:29In Paraguay, the first of three days of mobilizations against labor law violations,
07:34Labor law violations, among other things committed by the government of Santiago Peña, will
07:39take place this Tuesday.
07:41The mobilization in the city of AsunciĂłn will go to the Plaza de Armas, located in
07:46front of the legislative branch, to denounce nepotism and the neglect of the health system.
07:53Almost a hundred civil society organizations are expected to mobilize, including workers,
07:58senior citizens, indigenous peoples and urban and rural collectives, as well as young people
08:04from the National Crusade Movement.
08:06The social movements and organizations are demanding the rights, pointing out that these
08:11have been violated by the government of Santiago Peña, and they are also demanding the defense
08:16of freedom, democracy and social justice.
08:24In Chile, the teachers' unions mobilized throughout the country against the lack of
08:28resources and government support, in addition to serious cases of mental health problems.
08:34In more details with our correspondent, Paola Dracny.
08:40Practically 100 percent of the teachers demonstrated in the capital, but also in the rest of the
08:45country.
08:46The slogan?
08:47That educating does not cost them their lives.
08:51We want no more violence in the school.
08:53We want our students to not see their right to education violated, and at the same time
08:57that we, as workers, are no longer afraid to face the classroom every day.
09:05For almost a week now, teacher Elena Cano has been fighting for her life in the south
09:09of the country.
09:10She was assaulted by a student with autism who was unregulated in class, opening several
09:15debates, stigma and discrimination, teacher specialization, the role of the ministry and
09:20the effective functioning of the so-called inclusion law.
09:28This was a case linked to bad inclusion policies, a student who should have had a shadow tutor
09:33who should have had much more professional support, and not to leave that teacher alone
09:39facing a situation that is absolutely difficult, complex and beyond her capabilities.
09:44A teacher who, in addition to seeing to the student who is not regulated, has to take
09:48care of the other 39 in the room.
09:53This is something that of course is not a true inclusion.
09:56These are not the conditions.
10:02We subject teachers do not have the specific preparation to work with students with some
10:06type of condition.
10:08We only have the integration program, which supports young people with these conditions.
10:14But everything indicates that in addition to the work overload and the lack of resources,
10:20there is the ineffectiveness of the inclusion laws.
10:23These shortcomings exacerbate the problem of school and social violence in a post-pandemic
10:28Chile with high rates of mental health problems.
10:33The problem of violence in Chile today, especially school violence, is the main serious issue
10:37to be faced in Chilean education.
10:42And the Ministry of Education has not made any pronouncement on the Union's demands
10:47despite their urgency.
10:51We want them to listen to us and see our demands, which have been made for years and have not
10:55yet been solved in public education and in education in general.
10:59Do not let public education die.
11:05We need public policies that are grounded and contextualized to the reality of the classroom.
11:11A reality that is reflected within the educational establishments, but that seems to respond
11:15to a national phenomenon that involves the whole of society.
11:22Violence is structural.
11:23It has to do with the lack of resources.
11:25It has to do with the lack of public policies.
11:28It has to do with the lack of funding.
11:30It has to do with the lack of guarantee of rights.
11:32It has to do with how communities are also linked to situations of violence that occur
11:36around them, because it is part of a social phenomenon.
11:41There is no doubt.
11:45This woman assaulted her neighbors because of a notice on the street asking for caution
11:49when driving.
11:50Children playing, it's said.
11:52Something is wrong with the mental health of Chileans.
12:00In other information, Cuba launched the second national exercise for the prevention and fighting
12:06of crime, corruption and social disruption, to strengthen mechanisms and structures at
12:11all levels to guarantee citizen security.
12:14This second exercise follows the one developed in December 2024 and will run until March
12:2129th.
12:22President Miguel DĂaz-Canel took part in the meeting held to launch the process, together
12:27with other representatives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
12:31All the state structures from the provincial level to the popular councils participate
12:35in this paramount exercise.
12:44This Tuesday, the emperors of Naruhito and Masako of Japan received the President of
12:49Brazil, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, and his wife, Rosângela da Silva, at the Imperial
12:54Palace in Tokyo.
12:56The meeting marks the beginning of the Brazilian President's official visit to the Asian
13:02aims to strengthen areas of bilateral cooperation, such as security and investment.
13:08The Brazilian President is trying to get Japan to open negotiations to adopt a free trade
13:13agreement with Mercosur.
13:15Brazil is seeking to new markets for products that may face restrictions in the United States
13:21because of President Donald Trump's aggressive tariff policy.
13:31The Russian government assures that it is in favour of resuming the Black Sea initiative
13:43in a more acceptable way for all, with clear warranties.
13:48The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured that Russia's position is not to
13:52trust the words of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, therefore he stressed
13:57the importance of creating conditions so that no one would try to keep Russia away
14:02from the dialogue.
14:03The head of Russian diplomacy stressed the need for clear warranties of the treaty, only
14:08if the United States succeeds in making Ukraine keep its word.
14:13The senior Russian diplomat stressed that with the implementation of the treaty, the
14:18grain and fertiliser market will be not only for the economic benefit of Russia, but also
14:24for food security in Africa.
15:25Welcome back from the South.
15:27In Lebanon, the Hezbollah resistance movement ensured not to allow the normalisation of
15:33relations with the Israeli regime under the pretext of reconstructing the country, as
15:37the United States had urged to make it happen.
15:41The deputy head of the political council of the Hezbollah movement, Mahmoud Kamati, stood
15:46out three main issues.
15:47First, his country must be liberated from the Israeli occupation forces, prisoners must
15:53be released and the 13-point file with the enemy must be closed.
15:58The authority further pointed out that as long as the Lebanese soil be exposed to the
16:03Syrian regime's shellings, the aggressions would not stop.
16:07Hezbollah and the people are committed to resistance, as it is considered a fundamental
16:12pillar in the defence of the territory.
16:14Likewise, the movement rejected the presence of occupation troops, the violation of both
16:20the ceasefire and the deadline for withdrawing from the occupied territories.
16:32In Palestine, Israeli strikes have killed at least 65 people in Gaza in the past 24
16:38hours, including women, children and two journalists.
16:42According to Palestinian doctors, an Israeli attack hit a schoolhouse in displaced people
16:47in the Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least four people, including a child.
16:52Another 18 people were wounded in Monday's attack and another 18 people were killed on
16:59the Nusayrat refuge camp, while another 25 were killed in attacks overnight and on Monday.
17:06Also in this new wave of attacks, journalists Hossam Shabbat and Mohamed Mansour were killed
17:12in a new attempt to silence the media and hide the crimes of the occupation against
17:17the people of Gaza.
17:23In this context and following Sunday's attacks on the Nusayr hospital, the United Nations
17:28calls for no damage to medical facilities, as Israeli attacks in Gaza intensify.
17:34In this regard, the United Nations spokesperson explained that the organization's staff continues
17:39to receive reports of attacks on medical facilities, ambulances and medical personnel in Gaza who
17:47have described it as horrific.
17:49It is important to note that Israel's attacks on hospitals have been part of its genocide
17:54from the beginning, affecting the entire health care system and paralyzing it almost entirely.
18:01This Tuesday, the International Network Monitoring Service's netblogs reported a massive internet
18:08outage affecting the entire country of Syria.
18:17In a message published on the ex-social network, the monitoring platform pointed out that real-time
18:22network data showed the interruption of the service at a national level, affecting telecommunications
18:29in several cities of the country.
18:32This digital blackout comes in the midst of fresh air strikes by the Israeli army.
18:38Also, netblogs have confirmed the scale of the outage, although no details have yet been
18:44provided as to its cause.
18:47This contingency adds to the tensions and the intense information blockade maintained
18:51by the de facto government, which is led by former members of the al-Qaeda terrorist group.
19:08Ecuador's National Risk Management Secretariat reported that the death of at least 20 people
19:19as a result of torrential rains in the last 24 hours.
19:23The authority also indicated that since the beginning of 2025, the country has faced more
19:29than 2,000 adverse events which affected 23 provinces of the country due to the weather
19:35season.
19:36Likewise, 98 people were injured, 18,685 people were affected, and more than 33,000 houses
19:45were affected as well, of which 150 were destroyed.
19:50Given this, the Ecuadorian government maintains the regional state of emergency for 60 days,
19:56as well as red, orange and yellow alerts according to the magnitude of fresh in each province.
