00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:03Office. High pressure builds into tomorrow so a fine day, a mix of clouds
00:08and sunshine before things change from the northwest. So you can see this high
00:12pressure gradually extending across England and Wales towards Scotland.
00:16Always breezy across western Scotland but the air will be warm, temperatures
00:20higher than Tuesday. As this weather front moves in into Thursday, stalling
00:24across the north there and weakening all the while towards the south, so maybe a
00:28bit more cloud into Thursday before more cloud and rain arrives and showers
00:32follow and the air will turn cooler. So yes, a succession of weather fronts
00:36moving our way but for the time being any patchy rain across the far south
00:40clears. Clearer skies will allow for some fog patches where you see a lighter
00:45breeze and this fog could turn a little bit more widespread across eastern
00:48counties of England, East Anglia, associated with some low cloud as well
00:52so murky conditions as we enter Wednesday morning. And some pockets of
00:56frost in rural spots where we see temperatures close to freezing if not
01:00below. So first thing tomorrow morning, for some it will be cloudy and we could
01:05see that low cloud just lift and slowly break but there will be some lovely
01:09sunshine around, hazy sunshine across western Scotland and any showery rain
01:14across Shetland will clear. The rain arrives across the Outer Hebrides by
01:17around mid-afternoon but it'll be a dry afternoon elsewhere. Warmer temperatures
01:22up a notch on Tuesday, 15, 16, even 17 degrees Celsius. It'll be a windy evening
01:29across western Scotland with some outbreaks of rain. This rain gradually
01:32sinks down towards more central parts through the evening and overnight and
01:36slowly moves in across Northern Ireland. Highest rainfall totals, the most intense
01:41rain will always be over the higher ground towards the west. We could see
01:45some patchy rain across northern England as we head into Thursday morning but the
01:49front weakening all the while before more rain and wind arise from the west
01:53later and elsewhere though we'll see some fine conditions so maybe more
01:58clouds across northern England but certainly for England and Wales you'll
02:01see brighter skies further south and some outbreaks of rain further north and
02:05northwest with that keen breeze. Showers will follow on Friday with some sunshine
02:10in between and temperatures not as high. I'll see you later.
