00:00I am lucky that I am still surviving, and I will...
00:22I am missing my classes right now,
00:25in the same way I have missed them for the last six weeks to create climate awareness.
00:31It's not a surprise because I once missed three months of school
00:35due to the effects of climate change we experienced in my family and community.
00:42And my father wasn't able to raise my tuition fees.
00:46I am a victim of this whole climate crisis, and I am not ashamed to say so.
00:52After the massive effects of climate change in my home village,
00:57the heavy rains, the strong winds that washed away our crops leaving the land bare,
01:03the constant dry spells that left the streams dry,
01:08my parents had to sell off our land and livestock to sustain our lives.
01:13And when the money was over, it was a question of survival and death.
01:19I am lucky that I am still surviving, and I will...
01:35I am lucky that I am still surviving, and I will not take this chance for granted.
01:42Because people are dying every day.
01:45I made a decision to protect the only place I call Earth.
01:51And by this, I joined fellow young activists all over the globe to protect our future.
01:59Through endless fights, sacrifices, we have sought our way because this is our future.
02:07I will tell you that we are a generation of scared people,
02:11but very ambitious, very united, very persistent, and very good at action.
02:19I sacrifice all my pocket money into a lecture clean-up activity I do to beat plastic pollution.
02:27And I need you to join me in this fight.
02:32You too can make a decision now.
02:35If you are willing to join the youth in this fight,
02:38I want you to promise to us by standing up right now.
02:51Thank you. You can have your seats.
02:58And for those that didn't stand up, I will tell you.
03:03Your beds might be comfortable right now.
03:06But not for long.
03:08You will soon feel the same heat we feel every day.
03:13Be rest assured that youth from the other side of the world fighting for a safe future for you and for us all,
03:22and are not about to give up yet.
03:25Let's move away from this summit with action.
03:28I thank you all.
03:36Thank you.
