00:18The Department of Transportation has targeted locations in the country

00:21that could be affected by the 3-day transport strike.

00:24This is the return of the Manibela group to the Land Transportation, Franchising, and Regulatory Board.

00:29This is in line with the consolidation rate of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program or PUVMP.

00:34On the first day of the strike, the DOTR is ready to assist the affected passengers.

00:40We are able to monitor and be on standby.

00:42There are MDA buses so that we won't get stuck.

00:47The good thing about this system is that we can see right away

00:53if there are passengers who will have problems.

00:57Wow! Our buses are deployed in case our countrymen will have a hard time.

01:07LGUs and other agencies also helped to provide free transportation.

01:11Quezon City deployed an e-trike

01:14to make sure that the stranded passengers will have a vehicle.

01:17The Philippine Coast Guard also helped to alleviate the difficulties of the commuters.

01:22The MMDA chose the places where they placed the buses

01:26so that the stranded passengers won't be affected by the strike.

01:30Again, we will not dispatch or find the commuters

01:34because there are many stranded passengers.

01:41If we will deploy these buses, they will return to the passengers.

01:46Because the tendency of the passengers is to ride in the e-trike.

01:54Where do the passengers need to ride?

01:58The LTFRB is open for consultation with the transport groups

02:01but they will not grant their request to stop the program.

02:04Because when we have a dialogue and you ask to stop this,

02:17The secretary of the DOTR, even up to the president,

02:22will be able to answer that.

02:25Because that's the policy of the government.

02:27That's a major transport policy.

02:30Now, the LTFRB cannot decide on that.

02:34Why? We are just implementing.

02:37There are also transport groups that rallied with the LTFRB

02:40to get support for the POV modernization program of the government.

02:46That includes Pasang Mazda, AltoDap, Acto, Bosina, and Puroda.

02:51There are many people in the program

02:53and all of us are serving the people of Mananacay.

02:57What we are saying is to continue the program.

03:00If there is a program along the way, that's the discussion to fix.

03:04But to stop this, we will not allow that.

03:07According to the LTFRB,

03:09more than 165,000 units of public utility vehicles in the country

03:15will be consolidated.

03:16But take note, not all of them are PUJ.

03:19There are buses, ULIMI buses.

03:23But the majority of them are PUJ.

03:27Because there is consolidation.

03:30Now, what is the 43%?

03:35Out of this, 43% are compliant.

03:41It means that their process is already done.

03:46The question is,

03:47can the 43% who are not yet done with the process

03:52travel?

03:54The answer is yes.

03:56Why?

03:57Because if you already applied for consolidation,

04:02the rights and privileges, you already have them.
