00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is addressing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources,

00:05ADOST, the quality of the air in the affected areas of the volcano eruption.

00:19Good morning.

00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is announcing that the two government agencies are continuously monitoring

00:27the quality of the air in the affected areas of the volcano eruption.

00:34According to the President, it is the DOST and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

00:42The President said that while the eruption of the volcano is taking place,

00:45it is important to monitor the air quality because it will also become barometric

00:51while the evacuation of the affected residents is still underway.

00:55It should be determined by the President, the DOST and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources,

01:00if the toxic gases that are coming out of the volcano are already at a dangerous level.

01:06And so now, DNR and DOST are continuing to monitor air quality

01:13to see if we need to do more in terms of evacuating

01:45P-Volx also reported that there is a sixth wave of volcanic ash that is mixing with the air.

01:51P-Volx Director Dr. Teresito Bacolcol explained that in the combination of the ash coming from the volcano,

01:58ash, volcanic gas and volcanic fragments, it will really be a danger to the affected residents,

02:04especially those who are weak and have heart problems.

02:08So Bacolcol's advice is to wear an N95 or a surgical mask if there is no N95.

02:15And if there is no face mask, wear a cloth as an alternative.

02:19They should wear an N95 and if there is no N95, they can wear a surgical mask.

02:25If there is none, then they can wear a wet cloth and that is the only thing they can wear, a face mask.

02:34And in the midst of a new calamity that is facing the country,

02:37the President promised that the government has sufficient resources

02:41to provide the necessary support to the families affected by the eruption of the volcano.

02:47The chief executive said that food packs are being sent

02:50and the necessary items to be brought to the evacuation centers have already started.

02:55So, yes, we're ready. We know what to do and we have already started to send food packs

03:06and we have already started to send all of the things that we bring.
