Shadow business secretary Andrew Griffith has called for urgent action after reports revealed students may be fraudulently claiming hundreds of millions in loans. 00:08and indeed universities have been aiding and abetting
00:11false applications, people who perhaps had no right to be here in the country in the first place,
00:18then this is an absolute scandal.
00:20So the government must get a grip, they must get to the bottom of this.
00:23This is hard-earned taxpayers' money.
00:26Many young people from Britain who would like to go to university or higher education
00:30don't always have the opportunity to,
00:32and if they're seeing their places in the queue being leapfrogged
00:36by people who had no right to do that in the first place,
00:38that is extremely concerning.
