Pope Francis delivers first public greeting and blessing before hospital discharge

Pope Francis thanked the faithful from his hospital suite on Sunday as he was seen for the first time by the public since he was admitted on February 14.

Francis waved to the crowd from the balcony at Gemelli Hospital and pointed out a woman holding yellow flowers.

"Thanks to all of you and I see this lady with yellow flowers. Good."

He was scheduled to leave the hospital and return to the Vatican later in the day.
