00:00The European Union has decided to delay the implementation of retaliatory tariffs on U.S.
00:05goods until mid-April. The tariffs, initially set to begin on April 1, target more than $28
00:11billion worth of American exports, including whiskey and soy products. The delay follows
00:17threats from President Trump to impose a 200% tariff on European wine and champagne if the
00:23EU proceeded with its measures. EU officials hope the extra time will allow for further
00:28negotiations and prevent an escalation of the trade conflict.
