00:00All right now out West. It's a body clock game here. Maybe for Memphis. They take on Colorado State
00:06This game is a two o'clock Eastern Time. One of the earlier games. They'll play all season long
00:11Should be a tight matchup here. We've already seen 112 beat a five. Is this a second one here?
00:17You know, it's interesting. You don't see 12 seeds favorite very often over five seeds
00:22I think that's for a few reasons
00:23Memphis is a team who a lot of people think we're seated too high at five and they struggled with teams even in the American
00:29Athletic Tournament Conference, they really couldn't put teams away now
00:32It'll be interesting to see with Colorado State because their conference has historically underperformed in the NCAA tournament
00:38So which one of those narratives is going to survive in this one?
00:41I'm leaning a little bit towards Memphis just because I haven't really seen too many
00:44MWS Mountain West teams do well in the tournament, but it's really interesting to see them being a slight dog as a number five seed
00:52Yeah, really good point there the 12 favorite over the five
00:55Meanwhile, North Carolina the 11 slightly favored over the six North Carolina played earlier in the week to get to this point
01:03I think it's fair to say
01:04Mississippi was better team during the regular season total one fifty five and a half both teams can light it up
01:10Who lights it up more today Gilbert? I?
01:13Like Carolina here, which is interesting
01:15I didn't think those words would ever come out of my mouth
01:17But I think that the way that they were able to win and come out on fire really in that first four game
01:22I think that they've got a lot of momentum on their side now and there's narrative of them people believing
01:27They didn't belong in the tournament to begin with so they're out to show improve
01:29And I think that this kind of feels like it's leaning itself or setting itself up for Carolina to make a run and get hot
01:35In March and it starts today against, Mississippi
01:38All right
01:39Now we got some big blowout potential here between the four and the thirteen Maryland played great basketball down the stretch there ten and a half
01:46point favorites today
01:48Against Grand Canyon Gilbert. I know very little of Grand Canyon. Who are they? Do they have a chance to pull this off? I
01:55Will say okay
01:56And they have a coach who has a big marshmash memory and Bryce drew played at Valparaiso
02:01Way back in the day, and I think that they at some point were a trendy upset pick, but I really like Maryland here
02:06They're a team who check the boxes of a real contender their elite offensively and elite defensively
02:11They have a bunch of good players. They call them the crab five
02:14They're starting lineup and Derek Queen kind of heads that Angel Reese's younger brother also is in that front court next to Derek Queen
02:20So a really talented Maryland team who gets it done on both ends of the floor
02:23They should get the tournament started off on the right foot by taking care of business against Grand Canyon
02:28All right, and now the matchup. I think everybody be watching tonight
02:31It's the primetime one UConn against Oklahoma. Of course, you condo stranger to winning championships. They're five and a half point favorites
02:38Against the Sooners, you know, certainly there's a lot of different opinions on UConn this year Gilbert
02:43There are some that say
02:44Champion gonna show their stripes in this spot. There were others that say this UConn team's just not very good. What do you think?
02:50No, it's UConn team. It's tough
02:52They are the last two teams are really tough acts to follow especially how dominant last year's team was in route to winning national championship
02:59They're not as good as they've been in years past, but they are still a pretty solid team
03:03They found ways to win in tough spots this year
03:05And I think that you know, Oklahoma stumbled a lot in the SEC conference schedule, which is no easy feat
03:11But I do think that we saw some of those warts and some of the weaknesses at Oklahoma has shown throughout the season
03:16I like UConn in this game Oklahoma's point guard is really good fears will be an NBA draft
03:22But it prospect he'll be in the NBA next season
03:25But I just think UConn is a better team Dan Hurley a really good coach and we will see that on display tonight
03:30All right, fair enough. Now the game that I think that has everyone's attention tomorrow will be 240 Eastern Time between st
03:37Johns and Arkansas and Gilbert I am no expert here
03:41But it does seem like Arkansas is playing their best basketball at the right time
03:44I guess what I would also say is just from watching st
03:48Johns a few times this year
03:49It seems like they are one of the best teams in all of college basketball in the second half of games
03:55I would assume Arkansas has got to
03:58Play very solid first half of basketball to even get a lead on st. Johns. I don't know
04:03They defensively just destroy teams in the second half
04:06Absolutely, we saw it last night against Omaha. Oh my I got into a pretty solid start against st. Johns, but they swear you down
04:13They're physical they're big and I think that that's going to be the same strategy they employ against Arkansas
04:19We didn't see the absence of a do-zero for Arkansas last night coming hurt them
04:23Which makes that loss for Kansas even worse
04:25But I do think that will they'll feel his absence if he's unable to go again tomorrow
04:28I think st
04:29Johns again has that size and the discipline to wear teams down and Arkansas again great win for them yesterday
04:35But I think that they will be outmatched when they take on st. Johns tomorrow
