00:00John, we have talked about this theme all season long now, the
00:03state of the SEC, a powerhouse conference, the best conference
00:07in the country in college basketball, six teams ranked in
00:11the AP top 10, seven as of yesterday in the net top 15. And
00:16in the AP top 15. In that poll as well. Tennessee is the top
00:20team in the country, John number one, and yet not the favorites
00:24to win the SEC. That's the Auburn Tigers at a very short
00:27price of plus 105. But you see the numbers there to win the
00:32conference crown in the regular season. Just how many schools in
00:36the southeastern conference can win this conference
00:39championship?
00:41Well, I think right now you have to look at five or six,
00:44Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida, and I think
00:47Buzz Williams's team is a final four dark horse. You know, I had
00:51the fortunate assignment in December to be on the call for
00:55when Texas A&M played Purdue in Indianapolis and Texas A&M's
01:00physicality bothered Purdue from tip to finish in that game. It
01:04was a tremendous win for the Aggies. And, you know, I value
01:08returning personnel in college basketball more than anything
01:11else. Texas A&M returned over 75% of its scoring from last year's
01:18team that went to the NCAA tournament beat Nebraska and
01:21lost to Houston in overtime in the second round of the NCAA
01:25tournament. The Aggies are a bona fide final four dark horse.
01:29But here's the thing you got to look at them. There are teams
01:32that are going to be seated 456 in the SEC tournament that still
01:38are going to be picked by many people to go to an elite eight
01:41or a final four. That's how good the SEC is this year.
