00:00Joe, you got a cup before us, where do we start?
00:03Yeah, look, right when we get to around pick 40,
00:07the offense starts to change a little bit.
00:09You have the aforementioned O'Neal Cruz,
00:11you have Kyle Schwarber, Jose Altuve,
00:13you have these players that, again,
00:16I think have some warts on them.
00:17Altuve's age, changing positions,
00:19Kyle Schwarber, big power, but strikeout machine,
00:22batting average kills you.
00:23I think Michael Harris is a little overrated.
00:25I could find guys that could be 15-15
00:27later in the draft at a much better cost.
00:29Right around there, you get guys
00:30from the starting pitcher side, though,
00:32that are really intriguing.
00:33You get Dylan Cease, you get Cole Reagans as well.
00:36Now, Cease is a guy, very steady
00:38in terms of making every start.
00:39Cole Reagans, another one, too.
00:41Big time strikeout upside that you really love to see.
00:44And I look at Cole Reagans and that division,
00:47and I also see a guy that's gonna have a ton of strikeouts.
00:50We're looking in that two-something range here,
00:52225, somewhere in that projectability factor.
00:55And at the end of the day,
00:57because of limitations that might be on a Paul Skeens, too,
01:01Cole Reagans might end up with more strikeouts, right?
01:04But you're getting him 30 picks later.
01:07That, to me, is what you're looking at.
01:08Okay, I want a big-time strikeout pitcher.
01:10I want to find that kind of ace.
01:13But Paul Skeens, if I take him, I can't take Lindor,
01:15I can't take Vlad, I can't take Fernando Tatis,
01:18I can't take those star offensive players.
01:21I can still get Reagans a couple rounds later,
01:23and Reagans will do the job.
01:24So I'm looking at two lefties here, specifically.
01:27Cole Reagans, one of them.
01:28And the other is Blake Snell.
01:30Now, I know there's a lot of concerns
01:32with Blake Snell being inconsistent over the years,
01:35and I get that.
01:36But last year was sort of a strange situation
01:39where he came in, signed late, never really got going,
01:43and then the last 12 starts,
01:44he was basically the best pitcher in baseball
01:46once he was back in his rhythm.
01:48And now he finds himself on this juggernaut team
01:50with the Dodgers, where the bullpen is so good,
01:53the offense is so good, even in a six-man rotation,
01:57which is what they're kind of taunting us with right now,
02:00I still think Blake Snell has a chance to win 20 games.
02:03And I know that sounds absurd,
02:05but in a six-man rotation in the Dodgers,
02:08I think it's possible.
02:09That bullpen is absolutely phenomenal.
02:12He's gonna get run support.
02:13He is gonna pitch six-plus innings most of his starts.
02:16He's kind of a workhorse guy at the stage of his career.
02:19It's a good pitching environment.
02:21There's so many things to like about Blake Snell.
02:23And the reason why I kind of scoff
02:25at the six-man rotation
02:26is because I look at the rest of the guys in this rotation,
02:28and my big concern is the health with all of them.
02:30So I look at Blake Snell
02:32probably having to take the ball every fifth day,
02:34because, yeah, you can tell me about Tyler Glass now
02:37who's never thrown 150 innings,
02:39Yamamoto, who has a much smaller frame.
02:42I mean, forget Clayton Kershaw
02:43and some of these other guys, too.
02:44Justin May working his way back from injury.
02:47There's so many questions in this rotation.
02:49The one guy that I feel really good
02:50about his ROI in the draft is Blake Snell.
02:53So these are two lefties here.
02:54I mentioned Dylan Seas, too.
02:55To me, this is the sweet spot of building your rotation.
02:58Matt, what do you think about these guys?
03:00Are you concerned that Blake Snell
03:02would kind of suffer a little bit
03:04based upon the threat of a six-man rotation?
03:07Because when you make less starts,
03:09well, that's less of a chance to be productive.
