00:00Department of Migrant Workers, or DMW, has shut down a recruitment firm in Mabalacat City,
00:05Bambanga, for its involvement in the illegal recruitment of overseas Filipino workers,
00:10or OFWs. DMW Secretary Hans Leo Kakdak personally led the operation,
00:15identified as aero-strategists, which was found recruiting aviation specialists and technicians,
00:21mainly aircraft mechanics, and illegally deploying them to the United States using
00:25only tourist visas. Authorities were able to apprehend the illegal recruitment firm
00:30following complaints from three victims and revealed that 15 more workers remain stranded
00:35in Texas, USA. The DMW is set to file criminal charges against the illegal recruitment firm
00:41through the Department of Justice. Meanwhile, coordination with U.S.
00:45immigration authorities is underway to resolve the case and assist the affected workers.
