00:00Hello, my name is Luke Patrick, I'm a reporter for the Blackpool Gazette. I've just got back
00:05from the Hive Cafe in the centre of Blackpool, it was my first time visiting and I had a
00:08lovely time. I went down there, all the staff were really friendly, the cafe is also dog
00:13friendly which is always a plus. I really like the aesthetic of the cafe as well, the
00:18place had a really nice atmosphere, it was quite busy, loads of people having a good
00:22time grabbing coffee, catching up and they also played Chelsea Dagger which is a big
00:26plus for me. I ordered a mocha and a homemade walnut and date slice which came to £6.16
00:33total. The mocha was really, really good, you got the sweet and the subtle chocolate
00:36and then the kind of darker, more bitter flavour of the coffee and they worked really, really
00:40well together. And another detail that I like is that with cocoa powder on the top, they
00:46did a design with the Hive logo and the name of the thing which I thought looked brilliant.
00:51The walnut slice was very good, it wasn't too dry and the fruity flavour of the dates
00:58really came through which I really enjoyed and the sprinkling of walnuts along the top
01:04which added really nice flavour as well and a really nice texture. So yeah, if anyone's
01:09looking for a nice place to grab coffee in Blackpool, I'd definitely recommend the Hive.
