00:00A Fox News propagandist, Laura Ingram is warning Donald Trump.

00:06If Democrats win big in 2026 you are going to get yourself impeached.

00:13Let's take a look at this video.

00:14Federal budget.

00:15And I can tell you for the next, this next fiscal year, we're going to be taking a flamethrower

00:20to the waste that Elon Musk better because this, these midterms don't go the right way.

00:25We're looking at, uh, you know, the Democrats are already planning to impeach president

00:28Trump.

00:29That is the truth.

00:30Investigations are going to start and they're going to go into town on you all on, on the

00:33Republican party.

00:34So, um, and again, you got here five minutes ago, look at, he's already getting the Ingram

00:38angle treatment.

00:39Congressman, what I'm struggling with here is the idea that this is some democratic plot

00:46to impeach Trump, right?

00:48Plotting as if there's a secret cabal of democratic operatives huddled in some back room with

00:54maybe with cigars, maybe with gummies talking about the plan.

00:59And it makes it sound kind of like a grand conspiracy.

01:03Now, should Trump be impeached?

01:05Of course he should.

01:06I did a video a week after Trump was back in office pointing out he's done five different

01:11things worthy of impeachment.

01:14But would the Senate actually convict him?

01:16Absolutely not.

01:18Now, 2026 is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then.

01:23Right now, Trump has the house and Senate firmly in his grip.

01:27And unless Democrats can somehow crack the Republican loyalty cult to Trump, attempting

01:31to impeach Trump is going to be just another pointless performative exercise deserved,

01:37but a pointless performative exercise.

01:39The unfortunate reality of the current political landscape is that the Republican party has

01:45made it abundantly clear that they're going to defend Trump no matter what, whether he's

01:50impeached, whether he's indicted.

01:52Whether he's convicted, whether he's caught on tape admitting to crimes, which, by the

01:56way, all of those things have already happened.

01:59We know that the loyalty cult will continue, but now we have to act all shocked.

02:05Oh, Democrat, you know, Democrats are plotting to impeach Trump if they take over in 2026.

02:14And now it's a witch hunt and Trump is going to start selling impeachment survivor commemorative

02:19place in the whole thing.

02:21We've already said it.

02:22He certainly deserves to be impeached just based on his first week in office.

02:26But it's not a secret thing.

02:28It's obvious it's simply not going to go anywhere under the current political environment.

02:33And this, if we zoom out just a little bit, we've talked many times over the last decade

02:42about how checks, balances and norms have completely and totally collapsed.

02:48And I write about this a little bit in my forthcoming book, which is that the reason

02:54we talk about norms collapsing isn't because of some, you know, nostalgic attachment to

03:02the way it used to be and pointless rules of decorum and etiquette, you know, kind of

03:07the the stuff that Trump has done is not the political equivalent of putting your napkin

03:13on the table before you're done eating in the world of etiquette.

03:16OK.

03:17The reason that it's such a critical failure to explore is that when we talk about what

03:25some call the the perfect nature of how the framers of the Constitution set up checks

03:30and balances, we've learned they weren't quite so perfect because they assumed something

03:36about the American people.

03:38The checks and balances, as established by the founders, assumed that Trump would never

03:44be a reality because the American public would never be so dumb.

03:49They would never fall for it.

03:51And what we learned and one of the things that that I kind of pointed out in my segment

03:56about like Plato, I'm questioning whether democracy is the best system sort of tongue

04:02in cheek.

04:03I still think it is, but it has real problems, which is the incompetent ultimately end up

04:08in charge or can end up in charge.

04:11The reason that the norm breaking is important is because it does go to the degree to which

04:17the checks and balances established by the framers simply don't cut it when it comes

04:23to a population like the one we have right now and its willingness to put someone like

04:27Donald Trump back in office.

04:29So that's really the point.

04:30It's not just pointless.

04:32You know, like the French poli tests, it it has real impact here.

04:36Now on the bonus show today, we are going to talk about how inflation is lower than

04:47I have made it abundantly clear.

05:04We saw inflation 2.9 when Biden left office, it went up to three.

05:11It is now down to 2.8.

05:13This is happening under Trump.

05:27This also relates to the future of Gavin Newsom politically, many important aspects to this.

05:40water system.
