00:00Left before the campaign period for local candidates in the 2025 midterm elections,
00:05some local officials have voluntarily started removing campaign materials
00:09from roads, bridges, and public areas, which will be deemed illegal starting March 28th.
00:14In Biñan, Laguna, local officials voluntarily took down their campaign posters,
00:19both their own and those of their opponents, including materials from senatorial candidates
00:24and Partylist nominees to comply with Commission on Elections, or COMLEC, rules.
00:29The poll body acknowledged this move, which can serve as an example for other candidates.
00:33We're iterating that those aware of their illegally posted materials should remove
00:37them before the campaign period begins. COMLEC is also monitoring LGUs,
00:42distributing assistance through government programs, warning that while this is not
00:46yet an election offense, it may lead to disqualification once the campaign period starts.
