00:35She said houses that qualify for redevelopment should be older than 40 or 50 years, depending

00:41on structural integrity.

00:43Tan also suggested that the consent threshold for redevelopment be 95% or 97% to reflect

00:50the intention to get almost 100% consent from homeowners.

00:55Meanwhile, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology Senior Assistant

01:00Professor Tam Kuen Wei proposed a tiered approach to consent thresholds, 100% for buildings

01:06under 60 years old, 75% or 80% for buildings exceeding 60 years old, and 51% for abandoned

01:14housing projects.

01:17As for compensation, Tam said it should not be based solely on the building's current

01:21and homeowners should also receive a share of the redevelopment profits.
