00:00And what do you think of the fact that they're all being women from very different backgrounds,
00:06some from the music industry, so it's very diverse.
00:09Do you think it will encourage more ladies, young ladies who are watching you right now
00:16to follow in your footsteps?
00:18Absolutely. And for me, it made a big difference.
00:21I never thought about being an astronaut until I met Sally Ride when I was in college.
00:26And now millions of girls and boys are going to see, for example, Katy Perry go to space,
00:33someone that they've admired, they like her music or they don't like her music, either way.
00:37Girls and boys are going to see that women going to space is something that happens as well.
00:43And I think of each person that goes to space as creating sort of ripples in a pond,
00:48in the pond of sort of us.
00:50And the fact that we're sending six very different women who actually, I think,
00:55have one thing in common, which is they not only have really unique professions,
00:59but they also work outside their professions, have perspectives.
01:04And I think they're very intent on making sure that they share this experience.
01:08And that is so valuable to all of us for solving tomorrow's challenges.
