00:00A former security guard of a Philippine offshore gaming operator, or POGO, was arrested for

00:06selling and operating an International Mobile Subscriber Identity, or IMSI, catcher, also

00:12known as a text blaster.

00:15According to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, this serves as proof of POGO's involvement

00:20in scamming activities in the country.

00:27A former security guard of a POGO operator in the Philippines fell into the authorities'

00:31hands for selling International Mobile Subscriber Identity, or IMSI, catcher, also known as

00:37a text blaster, proof that the Philippine offshore gaming operators, or POGO, in the

00:41country are indeed involved in scamming activities.

00:44According to PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group Director, Police Brigadier General Bernard Young, ACG

00:49personnel discovered the sale of the text blaster after it was offered online for P600,000.

00:55The owners of this text blaster are former POGO operators, and they were selling it to

01:03a former security guard.

01:06He was selling it for P600,000.

01:11For a small amount of money, we were able to get it for P450,000.

01:19That's why we did an entrapment operation against the seller of this illegal IMSI catcher.

01:29The security guard admitted that he used to work for a POGO operator, but the business

01:33had already closed.

01:34However, he claimed he did not know how to operate the machine, so he decided to sell

01:38it online.

01:40The security guard just wanted to make money.

01:43He sold it to his former employer, and he bought it.

01:48He also sold it.

01:50The security guard admitted that he did not know how to operate this machine.

01:56But if this goes to those who know how to operate it, our countrymen will really face

02:02a big problem, because many people will be fooled again.

02:07When authorities inspected the IMSI catcher, they found the last message sent by the device.
