00:00We've headed to Headingley for this planning roundup of stories you may have missed, and
00:05first up, fast food chain McDonald's is set to open on Otley Road, despite fears it could
00:10add to unruly behaviour on the route of the Otley-run pub crawl.
00:15Leeds City Council received 20 letters of concern from people living nearby and ward
00:19councillors over planned alterations to the former Wilco store.
00:24In December last year a separate licensing application from Lounges UK to open a bar
00:28and restaurant at the same site was refused.
00:31A council planning report said the objections received were outside the scope of the planning
00:36application and on balance approval with conditions is recommended.
00:40Next, the Otley-run pub crawl has been mentioned in another planning application further down
00:46Otley Road.
00:47Morrisons has applied for an alcohol licence for its new store planned for the former Natwest
00:52Bank site.
00:53Ward councillors MP Alex Sobel and 23 people living nearby objected to the licence application,
01:00which would not allow alcohol sales between 1 and 6pm on Saturdays.
01:04An outcome on the Morrisons application is expected soon.
01:10And finally, a Catholic care home could be demolished and rebuilt after crumbling concrete
01:15made the building unsafe.
01:17More than 60 people had to be moved out when structural problems were found at Mount St
01:21Joseph's Catholic care home on Shire Oak Road.
01:25Little Sisters of the Poor, which has helped elderly people in Leeds for 160 years, has
01:29applied for planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings.
01:34The scheme would see a new sheltered housing scheme along with a chapel and convent built
01:38at the site, and it would be paid for with the development of 46 separate rented apartments.
