00:00Hello, I'm Nathan Judah. Delighted to be joined by Wolves reporter, Mr. Liam Keane. Liam,
00:13some interesting topics going on at Wolves at the moment, and none more so than the opportunity
00:18to design the club's 150th anniversary kit, which will be created bespoke by Sudu for
00:26the 26-27 season. So yeah, amazing opportunity here. The Wolves staff have recently sat down
00:34with 40 representatives of various supporters groups, including the Fan Advisory Board,
00:39and they've been getting consultation over the special kit that Wolves will wear, the
00:43whole club will wear, as the home kit throughout the season. This isn't something for away
00:46or a third kit or, you know, a one-off piece that they're going to wear for a certain game.
00:51This is throughout the club, and it will be the home kit throughout the season. So an
00:56amazing opportunity for the fans to have a say on what kind of colour they so desire.
01:03The colour has been a topic for, well, it's a topic every season, isn't it? What kit they're
01:07going to wear. But there's really some choices at the moment about what is gold? And we all
01:12like the old gold that the kit they've worn at the moment, Keano, the shirt, and then
01:16you've got the gold shorts and the gold socks. But what kind of gold do we want, sir?
01:22Well, I mean, first of all, the old gold that they're playing with at the moment, with the
01:26shorts and everything, as you said, I think I absolutely love. No more black shorts would
01:31be ideal in my opinion. But yeah, I mean, you can sort of look at three sort of eras.
01:37You go back to sort of the 50s, Billy Wright, and that sort of old gold colour. The 70s,
01:42you look at some pictures of John Richards in this sort of more orangey gold colour.
01:49Coming through into the modern day, particularly that season, first back up in the Premier
01:52League under Nuno with that W88 kit, that was a lot more yellowy in shade.
01:59Not criticism, but became iconic because of the season that they had.
02:03It did. I didn't mind, actually, as well. And obviously, in the years since then, it's
02:07been a little bit more of a darker gold, but it's still that sort of yellowy shade in comparison
02:13to previous years. I could pick hits out of all of these years that I like, but I think
02:20considering you're going back to, going back to your roots, you're going back to...
02:25Retro times.
02:26Yeah, all those years ago, and some of the success. I mean, Wolves were one of the best
02:30clubs in the world in the 50s. For me, the shade that you go for is that classic old
02:36gold, that sort of dark, rusty gold colour. Something that Wolves haven't worn for a long
02:43time. And I think that, with 150 years of this historic club, would be a pretty special,
02:49hopefully, Premier League, 26, 27 campaign. I think that there's people out there with
02:56different opinions on all of the kits and all of the different eras, and there's lots
02:59of very good ones over the years. Some, maybe not so much. But that, for me, would be the
03:03colour that you go for, the shade that you go for. And I hope that the fans, in whatever
03:10decision they make, and Sudu, as a manufacturer, do it justice in the next couple of years.
03:15That's exactly what I was going to say, is that it's fine picking a shade and picking
03:19a colour, but it's up to the kit manufacturer to make sure you replicate that colour to
03:23the absolute T. And that's going to be, I think, the critical point. But if they can
03:26do it, I agree with you, the kind of rusty old gold from the Billy Wright days would
03:31be absolutely magnificent. But let's be honest, Keno, the most important thing is whether
03:35they're wearing rusty old gold, orange gold, yellow gold, blue, black, pink, blue, brown,
03:40indigo, turquoise, whatever, it's almost the winning. It's the most important thing, isn't it?
03:45Absolutely. And in the Premier League, as I sort of hinted there as well, is make sure
03:49in the top flight for that very special 26, 27 campaign.
