00:00Pause on military aid. That's also a pause on intelligence sharing for Ukraine.
00:05After the Daily Mail first reported that the United States had blocked the UK from sharing
00:10intelligence with Kyiv, in particular through the Five Eyes network with allies that also include
00:16Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the Trump administration confirming that pause,
00:21even though the new CIA director talked up the prospect of resuming intel flows
00:26once relations are patched up.
00:29I think we'll work shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine as we have to push back on the aggression
00:35that's there, but to put the world in a better place for these peace negotiations to move
00:41forward. Again, President Trump is going to hold everyone accountable to drive peace around the
00:48world. For more, let's go to Washington and correspondent Fraser Jackson. Fraser,
00:53the UK Prime Minister's office tight-lipped on specifics.
01:00Yeah, well, this intelligence sharing is really critical to Ukraine's defense. It's not known
01:05exactly how the US intelligence is used by the Ukrainians, but it's suspected that it's been used
01:11to target mobile Russian units and also various other targets within Russia as well. Now,
01:16the Ukrainians say that they have the capabilities to be able to hit or strike
01:22with precision munitions, various depots or things like that. But on mobile targets,
01:27that is where the United States' intelligence has come in very important indeed. So,
01:33this will be an impact and this was definitely meant to send a message to the Ukrainians to
01:38come back to the negotiating table. And of course, we saw Volodymyr Zelensky send that letter to
01:44Donald Trump late on Tuesday evening, praising American leadership and saying how important it
01:49was for Ukrainian sovereignty. So, Volodymyr Zelensky in so few words, kind of kissing the
01:54ring again to try to bring back the two allies. After that, a massive bust-up that we saw inside
02:00the Oval Office on Friday. We heard from the National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, who said
02:05that he was expecting movement on Ukraine in very short order. He said, quote, I think we've seen
02:10movements in the last 24 hours that the Ukrainian side will actually come to the table and negotiate
02:15a partial truce, a full truce, and then a permanent peace. Of course, that following in
02:20the footsteps of what Volodymyr Zelensky said, where he wants a truce in the air and the sea
02:24to begin with. Well, Mike Waltz continued, we are having good talks on location for the next round
02:28of negotiations on delegations on substance. So, just in the last 24 hours since the public
02:34statement from Zelensky and these subsequent conversations are now taking place, we are also
02:38hearing that there could potentially be a visit of Macron, Starmer and Zelensky, a joint visit
02:45sometime next week. A spokesperson from the Elysee said that that was a possibility,
02:50but the Elysee then since walked it back. We're working on getting that kind of nailed down.
02:54We suspect that will be happening more after the allies talk to each other on Thursday in Brussels.
03:00But the pausing of intelligence, like I said, intended to send a message to the Ukrainians
03:04that it works, and it appears that it's worked so far after we saw that letter from Zelensky,
03:08and now the movement as Ukraine and the United States get back to try to repair that relationship
03:13ahead of a ceasefire deal. Yeah, a long way between now...
