Parti Warisan information chief Datuk Azis Jamman has called on the state government to expedite the construction of a permanent disaster relief centre, citing the recurring fires and floods in Sabah.
Speaking at the Likas Hall temporary relief centre, which is currently housing residents displaced by the massive fire at Kampung Cempaka in Likas on Saturday morning (March 1), Azis also criticised the existing standard operating procedure that limits aid distribution to just three days, calling for an extension to better support affected communities.
