00:03That's what the 24-year-old basketball player from Binangonan, Rizal proved

00:08by Andrea Queco despite facing a tough opponent

00:13due to her physical condition.

00:29I want to prove to them that I can do it.

00:32In a world of physicality, running, and pure talent,

00:37Andrea Queco, a 24-year-old Binangonan basketball player,

00:41is one of the athletes who use her left and right thumb

00:45to bully other people due to her physical condition.

00:50Despite the number of people who don't believe in her ability,

00:54it didn't become a hurdle for Andrea

00:56to pursue her dream and love for sports basketball.

01:01She started getting intrigued by the sport in high school

01:04where only men are seen playing it.

01:08Because of this, she decided to try out and play in their school.

01:13Due to her determination to continue playing basketball in college level,

01:17Queco decided to join the women's basketball team

01:21of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, PUP Lady Radicals,

01:25from 2019 to 2023.

01:28Unfortunately, at the end of her college years,

01:32she only played in barangay leagues and some commercial leagues

01:36because there was no professional basketball league in the country

01:40for female basketball players.

01:43And this year,

01:44Queco was one of the lucky ones who was given the opportunity

01:48to play in the inaugural season

01:50of the Women's Maharlika Philippines Basketball League

01:53under the leadership of PSP Lady Jimmers.

01:55During the presentation of PTV Sports

01:58during her entrance to the league,

02:00Andrea surprised all the critics

02:03and people who don't believe in her

02:06that she can compete in this kind of competition.

02:09My body is like this.

02:11There are people who bully me before that I can't run.

02:16Those who don't believe, those who doubt you,

02:19that your body is like this, you can't run, you can't jump,

02:23you can't do it at the same time.

02:25So that's what I did as an inspiration and motivation

02:29that my body is not just like this

02:34so that I can compete in basketball.

02:36Queco also shared how big the establishment of WMPBL is

02:41not only for her, but for all female basketball players

02:45who are dreaming of going to college after their career.

02:50WMPBL is a very good platform for us to dream

02:54especially for those who will go to college in the future.

03:00There are a lot of dreams in this league.

03:05Andrea Queco is just one of the inspirations
