The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz seamlessly blends nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. First unveiled at last year's New York Auto Show, this electric microbus has finally hit the roads, delivering everything Volkswagen Bus enthusiasts have been yearning for. With its spacious interior, charming design, and the freedom to travel anywhere, the ID. Buzz is a tribute to the iconic Volkswagen Microbus. The all-electric model retains the beloved features of the original while introducing innovative elements that cater to contemporary needs. The clever cargo system, which includes fold-flat seats and ample storage bins, ensures that the ID Buzz is as practical as it is stylish.
Volkswagen has gone above and beyond in designing the ID. Buzz, especially for the North American market, where it boasts a three-row configuration that can accommodate six or seven passengers. The interior is a testament to thoughtful design, featuring a single-component steering wheel and driver display that moves together, ensuring an unobstructed view. The large touch screen center console, voice-activated assistance, and wireless phone charging are just a few of the high-tech amenities that make the ID. Buzz a joy to drive. The playful "play" and "pause" pedals, along with the configurable removable center console, add a touch of whimsy to the vehicle's functionality.
Performance-wise, the ID. Buzz delivers a driving range of 230 miles and up to 300 horsepower, well-equipped for both daily commutes and adventurous road trips. The panoramic sunroof, sliding and tilting outboard seats, and generous legroom further enhance the driving experience. Volkswagen has created a vehicle that not only pays homage to its heritage but also sets a new standard for electric vans. The 2025 ID. Buzz is poised to become a favorite among families and Volkswagen enthusiasts alike, offering a perfect blend of space, style, and sustainability.

00:00This is the 2025 Volkswagen ID.
00:02Buzz.
00:09We first saw this last year at the New York Auto Show.
00:12We were able to get in and climb around.
00:14Well, now it's on the road and it's delivering
00:17what Volkswagen bus fans want.
00:20They want the space, they want the cute appearance,
00:21and they want the ability to go anywhere whenever they want.
00:24The original Volkswagen microbus had a huge fan base.
00:29People loved that van.
00:30What they were able to do was build it in an all-electric model
00:34that replicates many of the things in the original that fans really loved.
00:39With the batteries underneath the cabin of the Volkswagen ID.
00:43Buzz, configuring the cargo space was a little bit of a challenge
00:47because they can't stow seats or anything under the floor.
00:52So what they did was they came up with a cargo system,
00:55but it allows for storage bins here,
00:57and then it allows even more storage here.
01:00But even better than that is these seats fold flat by pulling that loop.
01:07And that plus this cargo floor create a really nice, wide, flat space.
01:16The Volkswagen ID. Buzz actually was introduced a few years ago
01:19in Europe as a two-row, five-passenger van.
01:23In North America, we get the three-row version
01:25that seats six or seven passengers and has a lot more space.
01:29In designing the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, the company went above and beyond
01:33not just in paying homage to the original,
01:35but creating a really fun, clever, and creative van
01:39that families and Volkswagen enthusiasts will love.
01:43The interior of the ID. Buzz is completely fresh and rethought.
01:47Volkswagen really thought about not only what it would look like,
01:50but how it would function.
01:52And they came up with a lot of clever ideas.
01:54So the first thing that we all really love is that to start it,
01:58all you have to do is put your foot on the brake.
02:00You don't have to press the starter button.
02:02There is one if you prefer to use it, but you don't have to.
02:05And then there's this.
02:07The steering wheel is actually a single component with the driver display.
02:13So this piece here moves with the steering wheel.
02:16That means no matter where you move the steering wheel,
02:19forward or back, up or down,
02:22you will never block your view of the driver display.
02:25Then there is this really large new center screen that's a touch screen.
02:30And this is where a lot of the function lives.
02:33And then the system has this.
02:35Hello, Ida.
02:38Cancel.
02:40It has voice activated assistance.
02:43We also have a wireless phone charger right here, as well as USB ports.
02:50The pedals are play and pause.
02:52And these actually were pedals that they put in the ID.4,
02:55but they were so popular that Volkswagen kept them for the ID.Buds.
03:00One of the coolest features, though, is this configurable,
03:03removable center console.
03:05And then there are drawers on either side for additional storage.
03:08The ID.Buds has a panoramic sunroof.
03:10It is just a piece of glass.
03:12There's not a screen over it and it does not open, but it does do this.
03:21The outboard seats slide and tilt forward,
03:25and this can be done with a child passenger car seat installed.
03:28It also creates a really huge space for climbing into the third row.
03:33And then I can
03:39pull the center row seats all the way back and still have a ton of legroom.
03:45230 miles of driving range and about 300 horsepower,
03:48depending on which model you choose,
03:50the Volkswagen ID.Buds is going to make fans very happy for daily driving
03:55and for those fun adventures out on the road.
