00:00Hello and welcome to Medea TV. Thank you for joining us for a new newscast.
00:15Twelve individuals who have pleaded guilty to Daesh have been arrested simultaneously in several cities in the kingdom.
00:24More on this in a few moments.
00:32Hamas owes Israel four Israeli hostages. In exchange, Israel must release Palestinian detainees.
00:39A hostage exchange is part of the ceasefire agreement.
00:43Vladimir Zelensky estimates that Donald Trump made a statement in a space of Russian disinformation,
00:49while Moscow and Washington have been talking about the Russo-Ukrainian war.
00:58Twelve Daesh-affiliated individuals charged with carrying out attacks of extreme violence
01:03were arrested yesterday during a simultaneous intervention carried out in several cities in the kingdom.
01:07Explanations with Dina Marini.
01:12Thanks to a large-scale security operation, the Judicial Investigation Center neutralized this Wednesday
01:20an important terrorist cell affiliated to Daesh.
01:23This cell prepared attacks of extreme gravity on Moroccan soil.
01:28Twelve suspects aged 18 to 40 were arrested in several cities,
01:33such as Laayoune, Casablanca, Fez, Tewnet, Tangier, Esmour, Gersif, Ouletseima and Temsna.
01:41Intervention operations also allowed to seize explosives as well as an arsenal of weapons.
01:47These operations were carried out under the supervision of the special forces of the DGST,
01:53which applied the security protocol related to dangerous terrorist threats.
01:59Teams of elite shooters were deployed on the different places of intervention.
02:04The objective is to dispel any potential danger or form of violent resistance.
02:10Assault teams using climbing techniques were deployed,
02:14as well as technicians specialized in the detection of explosives.
02:19Simultaneously, police officers of the DGST proceeded to evacuate the inhabitants of the apartments
02:25located near the places of intervention in order to guarantee and preserve their safety.
02:32The information collected by the intelligence services revealed the existence of the cell
02:37operating clandestinely and in direct connection with a high-ranking DAESH official
02:42operating in the Sahel African region.
02:45This figure of the terrorist organization had entrusted the members of the cell
02:50with the mission of executing attacks aiming at sensitive economic and security facilities
02:56as well as members of the public forces.
02:59The investigation continues in order to review all the branches of this network
03:04and to identify any local or international complicity.
03:10Back on the operations carried out simultaneously by the Moroccan law enforcement forces
03:14with the security and strategy expert Hassan Saoud.
03:17It's true, it's unprecedented.
03:2112 terrorists, 10 geographic points across the Moroccan territory.
03:26It's a scale never seen before.
03:31And it's a successful operation insofar as the puzzle has been dismantled.
03:39Secondly, the age of the interrogations is important.
03:47It starts from 18 to 40 years old.
03:49And so it brings us to the age of these terrorist apprentices.
03:54It should also be noted that this operation was in a very advanced phase of preparation.
04:01And so the intervention took place before the action,
04:09since all the operations in advance, the recognition of the targets,
04:14the timing of the routes,
04:17all the explosive, sharp materials that have been discovered,
04:24attest that it is a cell that was in a very advanced phase.
04:31There was only the passage of time left.
04:34The terrorist plan had been orchestrated and commissioned directly by a high-ranking DAESH official
04:39in the Sahel region.
04:41This region would have become a new anchor point for terrorism, according to Hassan Saoud.
04:46It's been a long time since the Sahel and Africa in general
04:53have become the epicentre of international terrorism.
04:56This must be pointed out.
04:57We are no longer in Syria, in Iraq, etc.
05:01Terrorism has spread in this region.
05:03And as you said, there is a terrorist command in this part
05:10and which is dedicated to what we call external operations.
05:15So it gives you an idea of the sophisticated organization of this nebula
05:22that will have to be monitored.
05:25But Morocco has managed so far to prevent these attacks.
05:32And it is a success that will have to be maintained,
05:36that will have to be reaffirmed,
05:38and above all communicated as they do,
05:41because communication will allow the resilience of our population.
05:45And we must remember that Morocco
05:51remains a privileged target of terrorism, whatever its obedience.
05:57And that is a very important element, from my point of view,
06:00in security communication.
06:03Morocco has been brilliantly elected
06:06to the presidency of the Consultative Committee of the Council of Human Rights.
06:09Freshly elected, Nadia Amel Bernoussi emphasizes
06:12that this election testifies to the credibility of Morocco
06:15within international institutions.
06:17I invite you to listen to her.
06:21It is an election that testifies to the confidence
06:25that Morocco has in the international community,
06:30to its perception as a pole of stability,
06:36a pole of balance,
06:38as a country that is moving forward democratically
06:41while maintaining its authenticity,
06:45and a country that is moving forward
06:47especially in a close environment
06:50that is disturbed and regressive.
06:54This election must also be connected
06:59with the democratic progress
07:02that has been made in Morocco
07:04under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty Mohamed VI,
07:07whether in the field of human rights,
07:10women's rights,
07:12the status of migrants,
07:14of disabled people,
07:16of what is called the social state.
07:18All these democratic progress
07:20are known in Morocco,
07:22they are carried out in Morocco,
07:24but they are also known by the international community.
07:27I have been on this committee since 2020.
07:31With my expert colleagues,
07:34we had the opportunity several times
07:36to show how far Morocco is moving forward.
07:41This is not a propagandist attitude,
07:45it is an attitude of an observer
07:49of the social and political scene in Morocco.
07:54This credibility,
07:57this trust that Morocco has in the international community,
08:05we want to prove it.
08:07The fact that in 2024,
08:09our ambassador Omar Zainab was elected
08:12with a very large score,
08:14and we also want to prove
08:16that almost all of the treaty bodies
08:18related to human rights are provided.
08:21So we find Moroccan experts
08:23at the torture committee level,
08:25at the civil and political,
08:27economic and social rights level, etc.
08:29So Moroccan experts are in multilateralism
08:36and do a good job.
08:39Hamas is preparing to surrender
08:41four Israeli hostages
08:43and even if the truce remains fragile,
08:45discussions on the terms of the second phase
08:48of the ceasefire agreement
08:50will have to resume this week.
08:52The Palestinian movement assures
08:54that it could release this step
08:56in one go all the hostages still captive
08:58in the Gaza Strip.
09:00The Palestinian movement must return
09:02four hostages in exchange
09:04for the release planned Saturday
09:06of Palestinians held by Israel.
09:09A meeting described as positive
09:11by the Russian president.
09:13Only a few hours after the end
09:15of the discussions between
09:17the American and Russian delegations
09:19in Riyadh, Donald Trump declared himself
09:21confident in the possibility
09:23of putting an end to the war in Ukraine.
09:25However, Donald Trump seemed
09:27to attribute the responsibility
09:29of the conflict to Kiev,
09:31accusing Volodymyr Zelensky
09:33of being a dictator without elections,
09:35taking into account the Kremlin's speech
09:37about presidential elections
09:39last year because of the war.
09:43Volodymyr Zelensky estimates
09:45that Donald Trump lives in a space
09:47of Russian disinformation.
09:49The tone is raised between the two leaders
09:51the day after the discussions
09:53between the American and Russian delegations
09:55in Saudi Arabia.
09:58Fears of an American-Ukrainian
10:00rupture are becoming
10:02more and more persistent.
10:04Trump holds Zelensky responsible
10:06for the invasion of his country.
10:08The Ukrainian president had been the target
10:10of the unprecedented attack of the American president,
10:12who contested his legitimacy
10:14and his desire to find a solution
10:16to the conflict.
10:18On his side, Volodymyr Zelensky
10:20accuses the American nomologist
10:22of living in a space of Russian disinformation.
10:24The task of explaining
10:26Washington's position now comes
10:28to the American special envoy
10:30Kiskelov, arriving Wednesday morning
10:32in Kiev, adopting a conciliatory tone.
10:34He said he understood the need
10:36for security guarantees from Ukraine.
10:38It is good to be back in Kiev
10:40and to have excellent interviews
10:42with President Zelensky, his staff
10:44and his military commanders.
10:46The head of the Russian state
10:48congratulated him on the resumption
10:50of the Russian-American dialogue.
10:52The heads of Russian and American diplomacies
10:54Sergei Lavrov and Marco Rubio
10:56met on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia,
10:58a first at this level
11:00since the beginning of the invasion
11:02of February 2022.
11:24The two heads of diplomacy
11:26agreed to negotiate on Ukraine
11:28without inviting Kiev or the Europeans,
11:30who now fear an agreement
11:32in their backs and against their interests.
12:00Donald Trump estimates
12:02that a commercial agreement
12:04with China is possible.
12:06The American president
12:08recalled that in 2020
12:10the United States had concluded
12:12an excellent commercial agreement
12:14with China. Since the end of January,
12:16Donald Trump has made customs rights
12:18an important measure of his commercial policy.
12:20He imposed at the beginning of February
12:2210% of additional customs rights
12:24on all imports from China,
12:26the country with the most important
12:28with the United States on goods
12:30and in response to this measure
12:32Beijing has put in place
12:34customs rights of 15% on coal
12:36and liquefied natural gas
12:38and 10% on oil
12:40and other American goods.
12:44Direction now Marrakech
12:46for the 4th World Ministerial Conference
12:48on Road Safety.
12:59Marrakech has been hosting
13:01for a few days
13:03the 4th World Ministerial Conference
13:05on Road Safety,
13:07a field in which the Kingdom
13:09asserts itself as a key player
13:11and this is only the beginning.
13:13After the adoption of a new road code
13:15and the improvement of infrastructure,
13:17Morocco intends to accelerate the pace
13:19in this sector to put an end
13:21to road accidents,
13:23a phenomenon that affects several countries in the world.
13:26During this meeting,
13:28the Royal Gendarmerie puts forward
13:30its initiatives on sensitization
13:32to limit accidents
13:34on Moroccan roads.
13:36Cheyma Fikri tells us more.
13:38The Royal Gendarmerie
13:40plays an essential role
13:42in the fight against road insecurity
13:44thanks to constant surveillance
13:46and high-tech equipment
13:48based on the respect
13:50of the road code.
13:52On the occasion of the 4th edition
13:54of the World Conference on Road Safety,
13:56the actions of the different patrols
13:58on prevention, sensitization
14:00and deterrence
14:02are highlighted.
14:06In this space,
14:08we display all the equipment
14:10used by the different units
14:12of the Royal Gendarmerie
14:14in the context of road safety.
14:16The aim is to promote protection,
14:18sensitization, surveillance
14:20as well as inspection of road accidents
14:22Among these equipment is
14:24the electronic tablet used
14:26in the management of the ground
14:28of the driving license points
14:30and the crisis map.
14:32We also have drones
14:34used for road unit surveillance.
14:36The point equipment used
14:38by the units of the Royal Gendarmerie
14:40allows greater efficiency
14:42in the control of drivers
14:44and vehicles,
14:46thus allowing a better respect
14:48of the road code and road safety rules.
14:52On the occasion of the World Conference
14:54on Road Safety,
14:56the commitment of the private sector
14:58was at the heart of the debate,
15:00notably its contribution
15:02to the safety of transport
15:04and mobility.
15:06The Renault Group,
15:08in this context,
15:10has for free made available
15:12to the world automobile industry
15:14a specific license,
15:16the Fireman Access,
15:18an exclusive safety device
15:20of the General General of Renault-Maroc.
15:22It is a major social issue
15:24and we at Renault
15:26think about it every day
15:28because it is a vital issue
15:30for our clients and for society.
15:32We look at innovation
15:34through four elements.
15:36How to prevent accidents,
15:38how to correct accidents
15:40just before the crash
15:42with driving aids,
15:44how to protect
15:46and how to save
15:48in case of a crash.
15:50On this last point,
15:52I think what was essential
15:54was to be able to work
15:56with the firefighters.
15:58This is what we have done
16:00for years now
16:02and this has allowed us
16:04to focus on major innovations
16:06to help our users
16:08in case of a crash.
16:10I will give you an important example
16:12of innovation.
16:14This is what we call the Fireman Access.
16:16It allows the firefighters
16:18to extinguish the batteries
16:20of electric vehicles
16:22in much less time
16:24than with a normal solution.
16:26How does it work?
16:28The batteries have protected areas
16:30with pads that allow
16:32the direct access of the firefighters
16:34to flood the battery
16:36in record time,
16:38around 10 minutes,
16:40with much less water
16:42and thus secure the vehicle
16:44which is very important
16:46for us in Morocco
16:48but also for the group
16:50due to our industrial activities.
16:52In Morocco,
16:54since 2015,
16:56we have launched
16:58a road safety program
17:00called Skace School
17:02for primary and public schools
17:04in the northern region
17:06but also in the Caza region
17:08due to our territorial
17:10and industrial anchorage.
17:12This is a program
17:14to raise awareness
17:16about road safety issues.
17:18On average,
17:20this program reaches
17:2210,000 students
17:24in Tangier and Casablanca.
17:26We are in the 10th year
17:28and about 100,000 students
17:30have benefited from this program.
17:32This program will go beyond students.
17:34Students are ambassadors
17:36to their families
17:38in terms of awareness
17:40which is very important for us all.
17:42This morning,
17:44the group presented
17:46two major innovations
17:48related to electric vehicles
17:50which is an important issue
17:52in terms of electrification
17:54and the durability
17:56of long-term vehicles.
17:58The group
18:00is committed
18:02to these issues
18:04and so are we
18:06because Morocco
18:08is a major industrial actor
18:10in the Kingdom of Morocco.
18:12We have the obligation
18:14to support these issues
18:16with the authorities.
18:18What I forgot to say earlier
18:20is that the Skace School program
18:22was labeled a few years ago
18:24by NARSA.
18:26NARSA is our road safety partner
18:28and we have a quality of work
18:30and dialogue with them
18:32which allows us to move forward
18:34together for a common interest.
18:36The Moroccans celebrated
18:38the National Road Safety Day
18:40a day marked by a white stone
18:42in Casablanca.
18:44More precisely,
18:46the Skace School launched
18:48an awareness campaign
18:50in favor of students.
18:52Explanations with Dina Mreni.
18:54Children are vulnerable road users
18:56and could expose themselves
18:58to high risk of accidents.
19:00In this sense,
19:02Casablanca's primary school
19:04aims to initiate
19:06students to the good practices
19:08of road safety
19:10and raise awareness
19:12about the rules of good use
19:14of public transport.
19:16As every year,
19:18we celebrate the National Road Safety Day
19:20on February 18th.
19:22It is an opportunity for us
19:24to raise awareness
19:26about the importance
19:28of respecting traffic rules.
19:30It also allows students
19:32to know the importance
19:34of good safety practices.
19:38Several activities
19:40and role-playing games
19:42have been organized
19:44by teachers
19:46in order to raise
19:48students' awareness
19:50about road risks.
19:56I played the role
19:58of traffic police
20:00in order to explain to students
20:02the major role they play
20:04to ensure the safety
20:06and comfort of pedestrians
20:08and vehicles.
20:10Children were receptive
20:12to the signs and instructions
20:14of the traffic police.
20:18On the occasion
20:20of the National Road Safety Day,
20:22different activities
20:24have been organized,
20:26such as songs, poems
20:28to raise students' awareness
20:30about their rights and duties
20:32as pedestrians.
20:34In the face of a
20:36unsatisfactory road situation,
20:38public authorities aim
20:40to halve
20:42road accidents
20:44by 2026.
20:46To achieve this,
20:48drastic measures
20:50have been taken
20:52to reduce speed
20:54and improve the quality
20:56of public transport.
21:26But the tourism potential
21:28is still under-exploited.
21:30For local entrepreneurs,
21:32developing a local offer
21:34is a daily challenge.
21:36We need more training
21:38and more people
21:40who are passionate
21:42about the job.
21:44In Côte d'Ivoire,
21:46we have a number
21:48of establishments
21:50that are open today.
21:52We are pleased
21:54that we meet
21:56international standards.
21:58In this context,
22:00the fifth edition
22:02of the Conference on Tourism
22:04and Hotels in Africa
22:06recently met
22:08with Abidjan
22:10to accelerate
22:12the development
22:14of tourism
22:16and hotels in Africa.
22:18It is thanks to meetings
22:20like this
22:22that we have
22:24established partnerships
22:26to create
22:28an international hotel school
22:30in Côte d'Ivoire.
22:32The goal is clear.
22:34To make Africa
22:36an essential destination
22:38by valuing its human capital
22:40and its tourism resources.
22:42Tourism in Côte d'Ivoire
22:44is a matter
22:46of political will.
22:48I was lucky
22:50to meet President Oufouette-Boigny
22:52who made tourism a real priority.
22:54If we really want to attract tourists,
22:56we have to facilitate
22:58a number of things.
23:00We have to facilitate
23:02administrative permits.
23:04Côte d'Ivoire has
23:06unimaginable potential.
23:08Whether in Assinique,
23:10Saint-Sandra, Saint-Pedro,
23:12Grand-Bérébis,
23:14the interior of the country
23:16is magical,
23:18with its talents
23:20and its opportunities.
23:22Africa has all the cards in hand
23:24to become a world tourist reference.
23:26CITA 2025
23:28is an accelerator of this potential
23:30by connecting the actors of the sector
23:32to build the future of African tourism.
23:36This is the end of this news.
23:38Thank you for following it.
23:40Stay with us.
23:48CITA 2025
23:50is an accelerator of this potential
23:52by connecting the actors of the sector
23:54to build the future of African tourism.
