00:30Fiddler on the roof says, I don't leave my tradition, that means it's a time for celebration.
00:41People are you ready?
00:43Come on!
00:50What's up man?
00:51Good to see you, how are you?
00:53Chillin' man, doing good, enjoying the day.
00:55Even though it's summertime, NBA superstar Kobe Bryant is not slowing down.
01:00Just days after undergoing knee surgery, Kobe was back on his feet.
01:04And together with hundreds of enthusiastic fans, he welcomed to Los Angeles, soccer star Ronaldinho.
01:15What do you say about all the love you got here today?
01:19Well, it's beautiful, it's LA baby, it's LA, you know, having a good time out here and supporting the game of soccer.
01:26Kobe says he's a huge soccer fan and during the World Cup, he went to Germany to watch the games.
01:32Kobe then shared with me an amusing story.
01:35You know what's funny? I went to the World Cup, there was a guy sitting next to me from Israel, asked me about you.
01:42He wanted to know if all the stories that you write are true, if I really know you.
01:49I said, yeah, no, that's my man.
01:51Kobe, that happens to be with the networks out here, everyone, no one believes you.
01:55Nah, it's my guy, man.
01:57But it's not just people from Israel, NBA players also have a tough time believing my reports.
02:02Here's Bobby Jackson.
02:04I think I make everything up.
02:05Well, you probably have that aura about you that you don't tell the truth a lot.
02:09So, I wouldn't believe your ass neither if I was from, where you from?
02:13Israel, from the West Bank.
02:14Yeah, if I was from Israel, I wouldn't believe you either.
02:16I'm from Bethlehem.
02:18You're from Bethlehem?
02:20Yeah.
02:21That's like South Central.
02:23You think I believe that?
02:24Here's something few people know about Kobe.
02:26He has a work ethic like none other.
02:28Prior to every game, he's the first player to arrive at the arena, sometimes three hours before the game.
02:34He's also the last one to leave.
02:36Just, you know, just working hard at what I do.
02:39Like, you know, interviewing, media, that's what you do.
02:41So, you know, it's our professional duty to try to be the best we can at it.
02:45That's why, you know, I push.
02:46Push and push.
02:47But nobody else has that drive like you.
02:49Where does it come from?
02:50I don't know.
02:51It might be just a blessing, I guess.
02:53Hey, Kobe.
02:54How are you?
02:55Good.
02:56What's going on with you, man?
02:57Really quick.
02:58Why number 24 from number 8?
02:59We love number 8.
03:00Go to kb24.com.
03:01You'll get the answers there.
03:02Thanks.
03:03Last season, Kobe did something spectacular.
03:05He scored 81 points against the Toronto Rafters, a performance that really impressed other NBA players.
03:13Still trying to – to me, it's unfathomable that a guy can score 81 points in this day and age.
03:17So it's still hard for me to grasp it.
03:19You know, I average nine points a game, so it would take me almost nine games to equal that one game total.
03:25But, you know, if anybody in the league could do something like that, it's Kobe Bryant.
03:29Where were you at that moment when you heard about the 81?
03:32I was at home, and I got a lot of phone calls.
03:36I was like, why is everybody calling me?
03:38And then I met Kobe at 81.
03:40I was like, what?
03:42I watched the game.
03:43I started cheering for him.
03:44Really?
03:45Yeah.
03:46You wanted to go for 90?
03:48I just wanted me to keep going, you know.
03:50Now, Kobe, you scored 81 points in a game.
03:53You did like 500 push-ups.
03:55But 81 points is unheard of.
03:57Have you ever had a chance to comprehend it and let it sink in yet?
04:00I had a chance to think about it a little bit and kind of think about the circumstances that played into that, you know, having that type of a game.
04:06And I can't really put my finger on it, but it was fun to be a part of it.
04:11It's hard to believe, but Kobe is now entering his 11th season in the NBA.
04:16Where did the time go?
04:17I have no idea.
04:19To my right knee.
04:20Can you believe that?
04:21No, I can't believe it.
04:22It went by so fast.
04:24But I'm very happy, excited to be healthy and to still be playing.
04:27Reporting from the Staples Center, this is Eli Sekvak.
