00:00Cowboys new offensive coordinator Clayton Adams talking for the first time.
00:20Cut number one on blending his concepts with head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
00:23Yeah that's that's exactly where we're at is just trying to mesh what the vision
00:29of what he wants is because he's gonna call the plays and so I think it would
00:35be it would be dumb on my part to try to force a lot of things on that call sheet
00:39that he doesn't want to call or or he doesn't feel comfortable calling so I
00:43have not had a major background with him. I had talked football with him in the
00:47past and you know I had known him a little bit but we're really excited I'm
00:51very excited to work with him and just to continue to learn each other a little
00:55bit and I think that that's always going to be a process of you know you're we're
00:59all molded a little bit by our experiences and so there's gonna be you
01:04know we're gonna get out into some practices and talk through some things
01:07and I'm gonna see some things differently he's gonna see some things
01:10differently and well it's gonna be a growing process you know you get into
01:14games and you have to have those same type of experiences both good and
01:17molded by the experience of the practices is what I really like about
01:21that cut because I feel like Schottenheimer is bringing in Adams for
01:27his expertise and Adams is doing a nice job not usurping the coach or saying
01:31yeah it's good we're gonna do it my way he said he's the head coach but we're
01:35gonna get together and troubleshoot these things and come to an agreement on
01:38what he wants to call but you want Adams to be have a huge influence on this
01:44scheme don't you we'll check absolutely and I it was interesting when I was
01:48reading about the Eagles and some of their offensive players talking about
01:51what they want their next OC and they talked about the communication and one
01:55thing that they did like about Kellen maybe Kellen learned and grew from his
01:58time with the Cowboys and realized the importance of like okay if my players
02:03are interjecting and they see something they want this they like a certain play
02:06here incorporating all of those ideas I mean we talk all the time about coaches
02:11being stubborn set in their ways my way or the highway I think now and I think a
02:16big reason why you saw the Cowboys offense flourish a couple years ago
02:19Dak and CD's visions were heard maybe a lot of that had to do with Brian
02:23Schottenheimer being a common you know middleman there in that communication
02:26and hopefully Clayton Adams can take that to another level
