The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced a revision in the minimum age for children starting school in Dubai, made according to the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) Resolution no (24).

00:00The Knowledge and Human Development Authority has announced a revision in the minimum age for children starting school in Devine.
00:07Announced on February 23rd on the KHDA social media channels, the changes mean a child must now be 3 years old to be enrolled in FS1,
00:17and 4 years old to be enrolled in FS2 at the start of the academic year.
00:22Previously, for schools with academic years starting in September, it was possible to start school in FS1 or Pre-KG at the age of 2,
00:30if the child would turn 3 by the end of December that year.
00:34However, the new minimum age requirements for starting school, according to the KHDA,
00:39say that children enrolling in FS1 or Pre-KG in schools starting in September must be 3 years old on or before August 31st of that year.
00:49Children enrolling in Pre-KG in schools starting in April must be 3 years old on or before March 31st that year.
00:57Children enrolling in FS2 or KG1 must be 4 years old on or before August 31st for schools starting in September.
01:05Children enrolling in KG1 in schools starting in April must be 4 years old on or before March 31st.
