00:15This is what First Lady Luis Araneta Marcos said regarding climate change.
00:20In her speech at the Climate Adaptability and Energy Forum at the World Government Summit in Dubai,
00:26the First Lady shared how the Philippines is affected by the effects of climate change,
00:32just like the six-year-old typhoon that hit the country last year within a month,
00:37affecting millions of Filipinos.
00:41Climate change is not just about statistics.
00:44It is a human face.
00:46A face that belongs to millions of families suffering the consequences of a crisis that they did not create.
00:56The First Lady cried in front of the world leaders that the Philippines is committed to addressing the effects of climate change.
01:03She emphasized that the country's efforts to achieve a 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030
01:12and to strengthen communities to be resilient through the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan.
01:19Now, the First Lady emphasized that we need to help address climate change.
01:25No country can solve this crisis alone.
01:28We need global solidarity.
01:30The time to act is now.
01:33Let's please harness innovation and collaborate across borders to develop real, lasting solutions.
01:41The First Spouse also emphasized the importance of sharing the knowledge of each country to address the crisis.
01:48Let us share our best practices and technologies to ensure a just energy transition.
01:56And lastly, let us please empower future generations with the knowledge and tools to tackle climate challenges head-on.

02:16The First Spouse also thanked the country for being invited to the World Government Summit
02:22where the country delivered its voice when it comes to different issues,
02:26especially good governance and the issue of the environment.
02:29The country's accomplishments at the summit also included signing a Memorandum of Understanding
02:35to address the spread of plastic waste in the country's oceans.
02:39There were also agreements between the Philippines and the UAE
02:43on legal assistance, extradition, and transfer of sentenced persons.
