00:00In other news, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself said that the Philippines will not back down from China's actions in the West Philippine Sea.
00:10This includes the maintenance of their monster ship and several other ships inside our exclusive economic zone.
00:18Patrick De Jesus is the center of the news.
00:23The Philippine Coast Guard maintains the sovereign rights of the country in the West Philippine Sea.
00:28The Philippine Coast Guard continues to monitor the PCG ship BRP Teresa Magbanwa at China Coast Guard Vessel 3304.
00:35The PCG continues to monitor the distance of the Chinese ship from 105 to 115 nautical miles from the town of Zambales.
00:44In spite of the high altitude of 3 to 4 meters, the BRP Teresa Magbanwa does not back down.
00:52The illegal maintenance of Chinese ships in the EEZ of the country is being notified through a radio challenge.
01:00This is a violation of the Philippine Maritime Zones Act, UNCLOS, and the 2016 Arbitral Award.
01:06Although the use of the ship is limited, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. insisted that he will not change his policy to protect the territory of the Philippines.
01:17This is in line with the continued maintenance of the monster ship inside the exclusive economic zone of the country
01:24and the continued approach of other ships of the China Coast Guard,
01:28where the three PLA Navy warships have never entered our archipelagic waters.
01:34The President said that these are not enough reasons to back down.
01:39Our policy is that we will just continue to defend our sovereign territory and our territorial rights in the EEZ.
01:55The President also insisted that our presence in the West Philippine Sea will remain.
02:01No matter what they do, even if our ships are bombed, even if they use water cannons, lasers, or anything else to block us, the Philippines will always be there.
02:13We will always be there protecting our territory.
02:17We will always be there making sure our fishermen are able to exercise their sovereign rights.
02:26Meanwhile, different exercises were conducted this Wednesday by Philippine ships,
02:32America, Japan, and Australia in the West Philippine Sea, particularly in the eastern part of the Bajo de Macinlok.
02:40This is the sixth multilateral maritime cooperative activity between the countries.
02:46The Philippine Navy used its multi-role guided missile frigate BRPO Serizal and the search and rescue assets of the Philippine Air Force.
02:55HMAS Hobart, JS Akizuki in Japan, and USS Benfold of America were deployed for Australia.
03:03P-8A Poseidon aircrafts of Australia and the United States were also deployed.
03:08According to the AFP, the interoperability of the countries was strengthened here.
03:14And the MMCA was in accordance with international law and was allowed to sail on navigation.
03:20There were warships of the PLA Navy of China that were monitored.
03:24But none of them made a move against the MMCA, which was successful.
03:30A joint aerial exercise was also conducted by the Philippines and America in the West Philippine Sea,
03:36where two B-1 bomber aircrafts of the U.S. Pacific Air Force were also deployed.
03:41According to an expert, this will only show the continued support of the Philippine security partners, which is also a message to China.
03:51That's basically a signal from them that we should continue resisting Chinese coercive actions.
03:58The goal of China, while it's applying what we call the gray zone tactics against the Philippines, is to weaken our resolve.
04:08But these military exercises, the multilateral and the bilateral exercises,
04:16are an indication that you cannot basically win the Philippines away from the United States and its security partners.
04:23In addition to this, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, had an introductory call with Defense Secretary Gebo Teodoro
04:31and discussed defense cooperation as part of the alliance of America and the Philippines,
04:37as well as the continued deterrence in the South China Sea.
04:41Hegseth and Teodoro also discussed the strengthening of the Philippine Armed Forces
04:46and the continued commitment to the Mutual Defense Treaty, which is important in maintaining the safe and free Indo-Pacific.
