00:00It is an important exhibition because it is a great retrospective of the work of Casorati
00:09with about 100 works, which goes back to all the fundamental moments of his research.
00:14The first phase before the First World War, the second phase in the 1920s, which was the
00:20key moment from the point of view of his affirmation in the context of the Italian Nineteenth
00:27and the third phase, let's say, which is much longer, but it is marked by a pictorial
00:33turn and very interesting, starting from the 1930s, 1940s, until the early 1950s.
00:39So all these moments here are analyzed, they are documented in an extraordinarily rich way
00:49and therefore the exhibition is perhaps in recent years one that can better make known
00:58to an audience, to a large audience, also a work by a master who, moreover, is very loved
01:04also, I must say, and also from the new generations in some ways.
01:10In Milan the last great exhibition of Casorati was missing, it was organized right here in
01:15Palazzo Reale in 1990 by Claudio Gianferrari, Fossati and Vittalamberti, in short, it was
01:22an important exhibition, but we are 35 years ago, so we needed a return to the track,
01:30it is not a rediscovery because in recent years there have been many, many expositions
01:36of Casorati or the presence of Casorati in collective exhibitions, he is the protagonist
01:43of Casorati in many exhibitions, and in reality it is a moment where the public and both
01:52the amateurs who love art in a slightly more in-depth way can verify, it is the opportunity
01:58to be able to verify all the passages and all the aspects, let's say, or the secrets
02:03of painting by comparing the paintings to the real thing.
