00:00This is the story of two men in the hold-up of a taxi driver.
00:20One of them was also involved in the theft of a man's cellphone.
00:26This is the story of Bea Pinla.
00:31This man was on his cellphone while he was sitting on the side of General Tirona Street in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan.
00:37It was a Friday morning when a motorcyclist passed by.
00:41They stopped in front of the man in the hold-up.
00:44Later on, the motorcyclists went ahead and stole the man's cellphone.
00:51They were forced to take the cellphone.
00:53The man was not able to complain.
00:56A few days later, the motorcyclist was arrested for being involved in a robbery hold-up of a taxi driver.
01:05Another man was also arrested.
01:07They pretended to be passengers.
01:09At the same time, when they saw that our taxi driver was on his way to the monument,
01:17he fired a gun and declared a hold-up.
01:20The suspect admitted that he was the one in the viral video of the failed snatching that took place here in General Tirona in Bagong Barrio.
01:31The suspects did not deny the taxi driver's cellphone and wallet with a license worth P1,600.
01:38The taxi driver was positively identified by our victim.
01:42We also followed up on the certain place where they left the items.
01:47But unfortunately ma'am, it's not there anymore.
01:49One of the suspects was also arrested for stealing from a security guard.
01:56According to the police, the two arrested suspects are likely to be part of a larger group.
02:02Their usual target is...
02:04Usually, it's the people who are alone.
02:06At night, they walk, steal cellphones, and our taxi drivers who travel.
02:13The suspects admitted to the crime.
02:16We were the ones who did the hold-up.
02:17We stole, we snatched.
02:19We really didn't have money.
02:21When we couldn't find a job, we were the ones who did the hold-up.
02:27We needed money, ma'am, for my expenses.
02:31Both of them are facing a robbery hold-up complaint.
02:34There is also a complaint of illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
02:41Bea Pinlac is now reporting for GMA Integrated News.

07:04Three people were shot.
07:05One face.
07:07One neck.

08:04The motorcycle crashed after it hit a road barrier along Osmeña Boulevard.

08:15The installation of barriers or separators is part of the Cebu Bus Rapid Transit System or Bus Lane.
08:21The LGU inspected the road and instructed the contractor to remove the bus lane barriers to avoid accidents.
08:29The contractor of the project made a mistake and removed the bus lane barriers.

10:14Some of the female staff were still sleeping.
10:24But why was Don shouting in the mountains?
10:28Don said that he was broken-hearted and the evil inside him was coming out.
10:33I was shouting, I said,
10:35It hurts, it hurts.
10:38He did this to me.
10:40I was really broken-hearted.
10:43I have a boyfriend and I'm stressed in life.
10:46I have a lot of problems.
10:47I have a lot on my mind.
10:48That's why I was shouting about my problems there.
10:52The campsite leader asked for an explanation.
10:57This is not how other people are.
11:00They also assured that this would not happen again.
11:03Oscar Oida reports for GMA Integrated News.
11:08This is the GMA Regional TV News.
11:13Hot news from Luzon brought by GMA Regional TV.
11:18More than 20 passengers of a bus were injured after it rolled over in Villasis, Pangasinan.
11:24Chris, what is the reason for that?
11:28Tony, the bus was avoided, that's why it rolled over and hit the railings.
11:33That and other hot news brought by Jerick Pasilyaw of GMA Regional TV.
11:41Those people surrounded the bus that rolled over in Villasis, Pangasinan.
11:46According to the investigation, the bus was avoided until it rolled over on the road due to heavy rain.
11:52The bus hit the metal and concrete railings until it hit a few meters.
11:56Twenty-one passengers of the bus were injured, including the driver and two conductors.
12:00A solar light post was also damaged.
12:02According to the police, the bus driver is not yet under their custody because no complaint has been filed yet.
12:08The bus company will answer to the passengers.
12:14Two people were killed in a separate shooting incident in Pampanga.
12:17In the first incident, two armed men came to the victim's house and shot him.
12:22The suspects were able to escape.
12:24According to his family, he's not angry.
12:28However, he has some answers.
12:31Because when he's plowing the field, there's no road on the road.
12:35Some passers-by seemed to be scolding him.
12:42In Mabalacat, a man was shot while riding in tandem.
12:46According to the police investigation, the suspect approached the vehicle that the victim was driving on the O-Access Road.
12:51The victim's son, who was also driving the vehicle, was saved.
12:54The two incidents are being investigated.
12:56Jarek Pasilyaw of GMA Regional TV is reporting for GMA Integrated News.
13:02A jeep overturned in Balbalan, Calinga.
13:05It was taken to the hospital because of the injuries.
13:08About 20 students were injured while riding it.
13:10According to the police, the jeep will be delivered to the students to practice drum and lahr competition.
13:17The jeep lost control while climbing the winding road in Barangay Balantoy.
13:23The driver avoided the bump on the right, so he pulled the left handle and the jeep overturned.
13:36Because if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me.
13:41Happy Throwback Thursday, everyone!
13:44The Irish rock band The Scrip brought nostalgic feels to their Satellites World Tour in Manila.
13:52Let's go!
14:08The Filipino fans were mesmerized by one of the hit songs of the band, The Man Who Can't Be Moved.
14:15The frontman, Danny O'Donoghue,
14:18was happy to be back in the Philippines and called the last day of their concert, Best Night We've Ever Had.
14:25They also performed If You Could See Me Now,
14:28dedicated to their former co-member and guitarist, Mark Sheehan.
14:33After the concert, Danny did an on-the-spot performance for the fans outside the venue.
14:42A new era is dawning for the P-Pop Kings of SB19.
14:47Stel, Pablo, Ken, Justin, and Josh were looking fierce in their painting versions
14:53and group photos while sitting on their majestic chairs.
14:57They even teased that in 2018 for their comeback
15:00and their EP, Simula At Wakas, which will be released on April 25.
15:05But wait, there's more!
15:07The group also announced the dates of their Simula At Wakas World Tour.
15:12This includes Bolacan, USA, Canada, and several countries in Asia and the Middle East.
15:26It's only been 88 days since the election of 2025.
15:29Five senatorial candidates were sent a notice by the Commission on Elections, or COMELEC,
15:34and then, they went on a rampage in their campaign materials.
15:39Let's hear from Sandra Aguinaldo.
15:43After their campaign materials were leaked,
15:47which were of incorrect measurements, not in the right place, and not biodegradable,
15:52COMELEC started sending notices to violate their regulations,
15:57including senatorial candidates who were not named.
16:01There were five senatorial candidates consistently in each region.
16:06We saw that initially, they were violators.
16:09COMELEC stopped violating the regulations,
16:11but it will punish the candidates who have three days to violate the regulations
16:16if they don't want to face an election offense or disqualification.
16:20It also warned those who are running for election against the syndicates
16:24who are claiming that they can make the candidate win.
16:27Three people were arrested for running this service in exchange for P90 million.
16:33COMELEC said that someone is planning to manipulate balotas using invisible ink.
16:39That's not true, according to COMELEC.
16:41There are more.
16:42I forwarded pictures to the National Bureau of Investigation.
16:46In Bindanao, there are two more women who are running there.
16:50There are also here in NCR.
16:52There are also in the area of Visayas who are running.
16:56If those are included, we will not punish them.
16:59Sandra Aguinaldo is reporting for GMA Integrated News.
17:04The former Agusan del Sur Rep. Rodolfo Plaza,
17:09a businesswoman of Janet Napoles and others,
17:12was acquitted by the Sandigan Bayan Second Division.
17:16She is a negotiator for Janet Napoles and others in the cases of malversation of public funds and graft.
17:22This is due to the misuse of P27.5 million Priority Development Assistance Fund of Plaza from 2008 to 2009.
17:33According to the decision, it was not proven that the issuance of the funds of Plaza
17:38to the two non-government organizations owned by Napoles was wrong.
17:43Napoles previously denied that she is the owner of the so-called NGO.
17:48Aside from Plaza and Napoles,
17:50some former officials of the Department of Budget and Management and two abolished state firms were also acquitted.
17:57Plaza was also acquitted on two counts of direct bribery
18:02due to the lack of evidence that she received a commission, kickback or rebate
18:08as a consideration in choosing the relevant organizations.
18:12The two personalities have not yet made a statement on the decision.
18:15There are other cases that Napoles is facing, including the pork barrel of other lawmakers.
18:22Senate President Chises Codero insisted that the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte will not be affected.
18:29If she is convicted by the Department of Justice,
18:32the NBI will file a complaint against the former vice president against President Bongbong Marcos.
18:39Let's talk to John Consulta.
18:42If I was killed, kill BBM, Lisa Araneta and Martin Romales. No joke.
18:52No joke.
18:54Almost three months after Vice President Sara Duterte released her statement in a virtual press conference,
19:01the National Bureau of Investigation filed a complaint against DOJ in citing sedition and grave threats.
19:09We believe that the evidence we filed is sufficient.
19:13The ball is now in the DOJ.
19:16They will determine if they will conduct a preliminary investigation and later file a case in court.
19:27The NBI insisted that the former vice president was looking for a person he talked to, but they didn't find him.
19:34The NBI invited Vice President Duterte twice to give a statement, but it was not included in the report.
19:40We are political and straightforward.
19:43We did not order or dictate what should be done in the case.
19:49Our investigation is based on our evidence.
19:57Once, Vice President Duterte said that he did not file an assassination threat against President Bongbong Marcos.
20:03The DOJ confirmed that they received the complaint filed by the NBI.
20:07It will be included in the preliminary investigation of the National Prosecution Service.
20:12Vice President Duterte said that he was expecting this.
20:16According to the DOJ, in the crimean grave threat, the Supreme Court said that the intention behind the statement is important,
20:24even if the threat is not scary.
20:27The important thing is that the statement is said to have a scary intention.
20:32In the crimean inciting to sedition, the Supreme Court also said that the statements of threats of violence or rebellion are not in the cloud of protection of free speech.
20:42The violence does not have to be actual, as long as the statement is made with the intention of inciting chaos.
20:51The prosecutors will study the case based on the evidence provided.
20:57If the DOJ is the vice president, there is no effect on the impeachment of Senate President Chase Escudero.
21:08The Senate is now drafting what will be the new impeachment rules.
21:12According to Senate President Chase Escudero, the plan now is for the Senate to end the election on May 12
21:19and the State of the Nation Address of President Marcos on July 21, more than five months before the Senate.
21:26That's why Retired Supreme Court Associate Justice and Constitution Framer Adolf Ascuna said
21:31that there might be a fall in the Supreme Court that will invalidate the impeachment of the 19th Congress of the Vice President.
21:37The Supreme Court might say it's too late because you need a new complaint because there's a new House of Representatives.
21:47And therefore, it's subject to the one-year rule that you cannot file more than one impeachment case.
21:56It won't happen. It depends on the action of the Senate that the impeachment court will be established.
22:01Unless the tribunal has already acquired jurisdiction because jurisdiction, once acquired, is not law.
22:10Escudero said that the Senate already has jurisdiction.
22:14The Senate already has jurisdiction in this case because we already accepted it.
22:20Whether the court convenes or not, to receive evidence, the jurisdictional orders will be issued by this impeachment court.
22:30That's called accountability. We already talked about that.
22:34Accountability to the defendant and asking the prosecution for justice.
22:41John Consulta reporting for GMA Integrated News.
22:54Of the more than 300 members of the House of Representatives or CAMRA, 20% were elected for the party list representatives.
23:02According to the 1987 Constitution, they should be members of the social sector,
23:07such as workers, the poor, indigenous cultural communities, women, youth, and others.
23:14But after almost three decades, there was a change following the Supreme Court's decision.
23:21The nominee of the running party list does not need to be from the same sector.
23:26He can also be a nominee as long as he is a member of the party list or an organization or has a track record of advocacy for the chosen sector that he will represent.
23:35According to the election watchdog group Contra Daya,
23:38more than half of the 156 candidate groups in the election of 2025 do not belong to the poor or marginalized sector.
23:49More than 25% of party lists have nominees from the political dynasty.
23:5425% belong to the big business sector.
24:00There are also nominees who have connections with the police or military.
24:04But there are also those who have dubious advocacy or are involved in corruption cases.
24:13It's a big number to be worried about.
24:15In fact, I can even argue that even if it's just one, it's still a big issue for the political clan
24:21because our party list system should only be for the marginalized and underrepresented.
24:27Scrutiny measures on which party list to accredit.
24:32I hope the commissioners will also think about that.
24:37According to the election watchdog group Contra Daya, they are already holding their hands because of the Supreme Court's decision and party list law.
24:44That's why we have a period where a person, a group, a registered voter can file a petition to deny due course or cancel a nomination.
24:59Unfortunately, we still don't have anti-political dynasty law in the Philippines.
25:06In spite of the party list system, we should still remember that the original intention of this election is to be the voice of the marginalized and underrepresented.
25:21The Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court ruled the case of acts of lasciviousness against the independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.
25:32Based on the decision of the Pasay MTC Branch 46, this case is now overkill because it also includes the case of rape through sexual assault
25:42filed by the Department of Justice against Nones and Cruz in the Pasay Regional Trial Court.
25:48This is where the two accused filed a motion to quash or trash the case.
25:55We are also trying to get a statement from the actor's camp, Sandro Mula.

26:26This and other hot news brought to you by Sairil Chavez of GMA Regional TV.
26:33As you can see, that red pickup truck passed by Barangay Rosary Heights 3 in Cotabato City.
26:41A few moments later, a boy suddenly appeared and crossed the road.
26:47He climbed up and went under the vehicle.
26:50The pickup truck did not stop and continued to run.
26:54He died in a police investigation.
26:56The boy was injured and is still in the hospital.
26:59According to the parents, they were not able to cross the road.
27:04The driver of the pickup truck who promised to pay for the victim's medical expenses did not say anything.

27:34According to the police, they are still verifying the information.
27:39The victim and his girlfriend tried to hold the victim before they jumped into the river.
27:45The police are also trying to get the testimony of the escaped ex-girlfriend,
27:51who was also with the couple when the incident happened.

29:14The names of the soon-to-be parents, Megan Young and Mikael Daez, are now thinking of names for their baby boy.
29:27On Tiktok, they shared moments while thinking of potential names for their baby boy.
29:34Mikael's references are basketball players like Yanis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook, and Jordan Clarkson.
29:44Megan is thinking of the names of K-pop stars like BTS member Jin and Hoshi of SEVENTEEN.
29:51Why not Mikael Jr.?
29:54The final name, let's wait for it soon.
30:00Let's update on the issue of the use of Peking PWD-ID and Planong Unified PWD-ID System.
30:06Let's talk to Atty. Walter Jason Alava, Concurrent Regional Programs Coordinator,
30:11and Officer-in-Charge, Legislative License Officer of National Council on Disability Affairs.
30:16Good morning and welcome to Balitang Hali.
30:19Good morning, sir. Good morning.
30:22Good morning, sir. Good morning.
30:24What is the plan of the NCDA to stop the use of Peking PWD-ID, which is usually used by restaurants?
30:32Actually, sir, the move together with DSWD and other members of the NCDA Council
30:39is to provide a unified ID for all over the Philippines because fake IDs are increasing.
30:46Now, we are talking with other LGUs through our persons with disability affairs offices
30:53for awareness on the verification.
30:56Because they are always asking about our verification.
31:00At the same time, what are the safeguards with regard to our ID system?
31:04How is the process of filing for a qualified PWD-ID?
31:12Okay, sir. Based on our laws, specifically the MAGNA CARTA or RA-7277 as amended by Republic Act 9442
31:21and another amendment by Republic Act 10754, we have 10 types of disabilities listed.
31:31So once you are there with the 10 types of disability with your disability certificate
31:37from our specific medical doctors in our specific disability,
31:42we will be able to give the IDs of our LGUs through the persons with disability affairs office.
31:49And then we have a form there that will be filled up and our ID will be given.
31:56And then our PDOS will issue our persons with disability identification cards.
32:03As early as 30 minutes, they will be able to get their IDs.
32:08You mentioned the validation.
32:10Have you talked to the DOH about the possible changes regarding the distribution of PWD-ID?
32:15Because there are reports that the ID is valid but it's not in the DOH database.
32:21Yes, sir. DOH, Department of Health, is a member of the National Council on Disability Affairs.
32:28We are the secretariat of the council and what we do is policy development.
32:38When it comes to our policies with regard to the verification,
32:43they use the Philippine Registry for Persons with Disability.
32:47We already have statements issued regarding what's happening with regard to the verification.
32:57Because our PRPWD is not 100% verifiable in terms of IDs.
33:06The advice in terms of verification is to go to the issuer.
33:11Our issuers are the LGUs, where our persons with disability affairs offices are.
33:19How is the coordination with the establishments?
33:24Because sometimes, the persons with disability who cannot be seen are suspected.
33:28That's what PWD-IDs are looking for.
33:35That's right, sir.
33:36What we did together with our stakeholders is we had a meeting with them
33:42and we discussed with them that by law, it is mandated to really provide the privileges of persons with disability.
33:53Then if there's a glaring in their IDs that it's fake,
34:00because we have a template that we provide to the NCDA,
34:05what we call the NCDA Administrative Order No. 1 Series of 2021.
34:09There's a template of what it looks like or what it includes in our IDs.
34:15If we see that it's really glaring and it's not included in the template,
34:21that's when we verify.
34:22We advise that when we verify, it's with the issuer.
34:26Then a little help with our PRPWD,
34:30but if we don't see it in our PRPWD, it's better to contact the LGU issuing the ID for verification.
34:38That's the beauty of PWD-IDs that are unified.
34:41What is the stage of this?
34:43Will the target be reached?
34:45The schedule of pilot testing?
34:47You're right, sir.
34:48The unified ID is the solution to open the fake IDs.
34:53With regard to the unified ID with our partnership with our mother agency, DSWD,
35:02we're already in the prototyping stage.
35:05Then we're fixing the processing of how we comply with the output or the operations of our prototype.
35:19But with regard to the timeline, we are very hopeful that we can enter our timeline.
35:26But rest assured that the prototyping is a study.
35:30We hope that we can support our LGUs so that our unified ID can be successful.
35:37And again, we can open the fake IDs.
35:40This is a good program for PWDs.
35:43However, it's also a big effector for small businesses.
35:46Thank you very much.
35:47Thank you, sir Rafi.
35:49Thank you for your program and thank you for having NCBA.
35:53Thank you, Atty. Walter Jason Alava of the National Council on Disability Affairs.
35:58Here's the question.
35:59How is the love life of Filipinos?
36:02Are there a lot of happy and passionate Filipinos?
36:07According to the survey of social weather stations,
36:10the number of Filipinos whose love life is happy has fallen.
36:14Only 46% are very happy, which is the lowest in the last two decades.
36:2036% said that they could be happier or they could be happier in their love life.
36:27While 18% said that they don't have a love life.
36:31In December 2024, the Personal Assessment Survey was conducted on more than 2,000 respondents.
36:38It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2%.
36:42In terms of relationships, which one will you choose?
36:47Can you just live in or should you get married?
36:50This is the answer of the woman in the news of Nico Wahe.
36:57Some people say that if you love someone, you should get married.
37:01But that's not the style of the current generation.
37:04Faye and Jeff have been living in for 10 years.
37:08They chose to live in in 2015 after 3 years of being in love.
37:14They say that you won't know the true nature of a man
37:19if you don't have him in your life.
37:23If you're married and something happens, you won't leave him right away
37:27because there's a role that binds you.
37:34But that doesn't mean they take each other for granted.
37:43In the National Demographic and Health Survey conducted by the Commission on Population and Development in 2022,
37:55the number of women aged 15 to 49 who live in with their partner increased compared to those who got married.
38:02From 5% in 1993, it's now 19% in 2022.
38:08The number of women who got married decreased from 54% in 1993 to 36% in 2022.
38:16According to an anthropologist, the behavior of Filipinos has gradually changed
38:21when it comes to the concept of family since the 1990s.
38:25The mobility of Filipinos now is not like the traditional society of Filipinos.
38:31That's why there's a house.
38:33They're just at home, but now they're both working.
38:37A lot of them are with other people, so maybe they're okay now.
38:42But tomorrow, it's not okay.
38:45Those who live in still want to get married.
38:48Do you want to get married?
38:49Of course. Who doesn't want to get married?
38:52I'll marry her.
38:54But the Catholic Church says it should be done as soon as possible, especially if you've been living together for a long time.
39:01Living together or cohabitation, there's an over-reliance on sexual expression
39:08instead of deepening the relationship through conversation and communication.
39:16The Church understands the reason why some Filipinos don't want to have bad experiences in life.
39:23The best way really to prepare for a lasting relationship, especially in marriage, is the best preparation.
39:31It's important that God is the center of the relationship so that it won't fall apart.
39:37Nico Juahe, reporting for GMA Integrated News.
39:41The Commission on Elections officials prioritized the inspection and verification of the printed ballots to be used in the election of 2025.
39:55Let's talk to Sandra Aguinaldo on the spot.
39:59Sandra?
40:03Rafi, Comelec showed the extension of their verification area here in the Amoranto Sports Complex.
40:11According to Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia, 27 million ballots are being printed but only 3 to 4 million ballots are verified.
40:24This means that even if the printing is fast, the speed of verification is not the same.
40:30Manual and machine verification is done.
40:33The ballot is checked by a verifier and then passed to the machine several times.
40:40Sometimes, it's passed to the machine but not to the eyes of the verifier.
40:46Even if the ballot is smudged or dirty, it's not passed to the manual verification.
40:53Comelec added more than 200 verifiers and they are the ones in Amoranto.
40:59There are also verifiers in the National Printing Office and they are there day and night shift.
41:05Comelec said that they will reach their April 14 deadline.
41:09Rafi, regarding the syndicates that are allocating sure wins to politicians who are willing to pay millions,
41:17Comelec said that they are already discussing this with the NBI.
41:22There's also a former Comelec employee who hasn't been in Comelec for 17 years and is being investigated now.
41:30Rafi, here in Amoranto, you can see behind me, the verification is ongoing.
41:35This is just a day shift.
41:37But Comelec plans to have a night shift and their target here in Amoranto or in the NPO
41:44is to have a total of 2 million ballots verified every day.
41:49Here's the last news from here in Amoranto, Rafi.
41:52Thank you very much, Sandra Aguinaldo.

45:18is a great honor.
45:20I am overwhelmed by their excellence.
45:23Thank you, MOPC.
45:25The MOPC is the first and oldest press club in Asia founded in 1945.
45:32Von Aquino reports for GMA Integrated News.
45:47A family has an outing in Nueva Ecija, but there's a robbery scene.
45:52An adventurous fur baby is being compared to a car.
45:57What should that baby be wearing?
46:01It can be worn in a dusty area and even in the river.
46:05It's really wide.
46:07That's the 4x4 that Oakley is wearing.
46:11But it's a lowered version.
46:13Because it has four arms and legs, the size is only 4 inches.
46:18But broom, broom always when it comes to adventures.
46:22Oakley is always a plus one for Salazar family.
46:27The video in the river has 1.1 million views.
46:31Trending!
46:33Wow!
46:34It's like, what can I say?
