00:00I am here in Washington DC where a winter storm has blanketed the nation's capital
00:05in snow. The snow began to fall midday on Tuesday through rush hour and didn't let up until well
00:12after midnight. The snow created messy conditions here on the streets of Washington DC as crews
00:17worked tirelessly cleaning the roadways with snow plows, shoveling and snow blowing sidewalks,
00:23and the salt that was laid down on the roadways before the storm helped melt some of that snow
00:28away. Residents waking up on Wednesday morning here in Washington DC were treated with mostly
00:34clear roadways. Roadways that have been cleaned through the night but a beautiful blanket of snow
00:39covers the National Mall and all the beautiful monuments here in Washington DC. It wasn't all
00:45work and cleanup here in Washington DC. Some folks were able to get out and enjoy some of
00:50that winter weather with cross-country skiing, dog walking, and running here in the nation's
00:55capital. For AccuWeather, I'm Aaron Jajak in Washington DC.
