00:30In Sri Lanka, we were, our profession from the ancient time, we were farmers.
00:42We were very close to the nature and we were doing the farming.
00:46In the early morning, they go to farms.
00:48They go to the fields, they work long hours up to about 2 o'clock, so then they come home.
00:55Therefore, they take a very rich, the meal very rich in carbohydrate.
01:01So, the milk rice was very common as they need very strong breakfast.
01:08Because they work exposed to the sun, then they work outside long time.
01:12Also, the milk rice made with the rice, whether it's white rice or red rice, mixed with coconut milk.
01:21It's slow cooked food item.
01:24Also, then it mixed with, blended with sweet coconut, raw coconut, sweetened with honey or trickle.
01:34So, then it adds lot of carbohydrate as well as the sweetness.
01:38The other way, the people eat it with spicy way, the same milk rice, but with no sweet coconut, no honey.
01:50Just with the chili paste or some similar hot curry.
