00:00Qatar's foreign minister said Doha is ready for mediation efforts after the Arab world's
00:13biggest powers severed ties with it.
00:17He said Qatar's ruler had delayed a speech in order to give Kuwait a chance to ease regional
00:21tensions.
00:22Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations with Qatar in a coordinated
00:29move on Monday.
00:30Yemen, Libya's eastern-based government and the Maldives joined later and transport links
00:36were shut down.
00:37Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani spoke by telephone overnight with his counterpart in Kuwait which
00:42has maintained diplomatic ties with Qatar and decided to postpone a speech to the Qatari
00:47people as requested.
00:49UK Prime Minister Theresa May will deploy Boris Johnson to the north-east of England
00:54in a bid to conquer areas traditionally held by the opposition Labour Party that voted
00:59to pull out of the European Union.
01:02Johnson, one of the faces of the Leave campaign, will say in a speech that only May can get
01:07Brexit right.
01:08At the same time, Labour will aim to shore up its support in working-class areas with
01:13a warning that May's plans to cut winter heating support for the elderly will cause thousands
01:19of extra deaths.
01:21Captain Steve Smith insists Australia's batsmen will be ready for their do-or-die champions
01:26trophy showdown with England on Saturday despite their lack of action in the tournament.
