00:00It was an epic Tuesday night for the fans of the Bahubali franchise in Dubai.
00:09Stars including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty are at the UAE's Roxy Cinemas
00:14to promote their second installment of the hit fantasy adventure Bahubali 2 The Conclusion.
00:19Slated to release in multiple Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam
00:24on Thursday in the UAE, Bahubali 2 The Conclusion, the tale of a larger-than-life prince who
00:29is fighting to conquer what is rightfully his, is packed with explosive action, drama
00:34and Indian folklore.
00:35Gulf News tabloids spent some time with the stars of the blockbuster to find out what's
00:39in store for the Bahubali fans.
00:41We come from a far greater understanding or knowledge of storytelling, whether it's the
00:46great epics of the Mahabharata, Ramayana and something that Rajamouli is very, very fond
00:52of and inspired by is the Amar Chitra Pradha comics that we've had as children while growing
00:56up.
00:57But further to that, our cinema kind of didn't make that transition.
00:59I think Bahubali now stands as one of the first franchise movies in that sense, uniting
01:05the cinematic country together first and now uniting the world.
01:08So I guess this is really not the conclusion, it's probably the beginning of many, many
01:12such things to happen in India.
01:14If you look at the stories that the West has, the Hollywood has in terms of superheroes,
01:20the stories are by themselves are very, very small.
01:24If you take the content wise, they're quite small, quite simple.
01:29But the technical expertise, the way of storytelling is so, so engrossing that they made it huge.
01:36Whereas if you take the Indian stories, if you take the Indian content, if you take our
01:41way of storytelling, it is rich, it is huge.
01:45Nowhere in the world you can get these kind of stories.
01:49But our storytelling hasn't been so wide open.
01:53We have been always concentrating on the regional markets and in a very limited way.
01:58So when this film started, our thought was that we have this great content and if we
02:04can just expand our horizons not limited to the regional market, then the world is going
02:09to open up.
02:10We wanted it to be big, like we wanted, for example, Tamil and Telugu is very nearby.
02:17So we thought like the Malay audience might like after Telugu, then Hindi, we thought
02:22like maybe 20% of the audience might like, maybe part two, no, it might go to 40%.
02:30And maybe, or we hoped it might be like all the audience will love it.
02:36But the first part, after first part, like we didn't, it was like too much, like the
02:41love, the audience, the way they loved the film, it is like.
02:45So there is no actually, good film and bad film, I think there is no regional bad film.
02:51Like they loved it, they felt it is an Indian film, it has become an Indian film finally.
02:56If you take the whole story of Bahubali itself, it is an exceptional story and that is also
03:02because each and every character in the movie, it is not only about having male protagonists
03:09or female protagonists, it is about how each character is etched.
03:13You take away one character and you feel a void, every character is so powerful, every
03:17character has so much of meaning and they add on so much to the story.
03:21Meanwhile, UAE fans of the film's stars turned up in huge numbers at the City Walk to get
03:26a glimpse of their favourite actors.
03:28The crush of ecstatic movie fans at Roxy Cinemas at the City Walk in Dubai became eclectic
03:33when Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty showed up on stage to meet them.
