00:10An hours-long attack by a group of militants who stormed a Pakistani police academy in
00:15Quetta left at least 61 dead, mostly police trainees.
00:21No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which the authorities blamed
00:25on the Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked groups. Pakistani troops responding to the assault
00:31said they killed one of the suicide bombers, while two others detonated their explosive
00:36vests, blowing themselves up. Health officials said at least 120 people have been critically
00:42wounded and that the death toll could rise further.
00:47Water has been released into the Dubai Canal for the first time during its three-year period
00:51of construction as part of a testing process. According to an official, the water level
00:57will be gradually increased through the next couple of weeks. Construction work is moving
01:02at a steady pace, with pedestrian bridges being built simultaneously, including a suspension
01:07bridge on the canal.
01:10Iraqi forces backed by US-led coalition airstrikes are battling Daesh terrorists for a third
01:16day in a remote western town hundreds of kilometres south of Mosul. Colonel John Durian
01:23of the US Army said the coalition strikes are supporting the Iraqi forces in Rutbah,
01:28including one against a Daesh convoy.
01:33India's Tata Suns dumped Cyrus Mistry as its chairman in a surprise announcement on Monday.
01:39Former chairman Ratan Tata was named the interim chief of India's biggest conglomerate till
01:44the board appoints a new chairman within four months. Shares in Tata Suns fell in early
01:50trade today, dragging down other Sensex stocks.
01:54The police chief of Paris had never heard of Kim Kardashian West when she was robbed
01:59and has now criticised the reality TV star for flaunting her wealth on social media.
